• A great way to discover the gems of Egypt

  Right from the outset the communication was brilliant which always inspires confidence. A couple of days before the tour began I was contacted by the local tour guide who introduced himself and said how many of us were going be in the tour, and asked for our contact details so he’d know where to pick us up. John, our guide, was very knowledgeable and spoke fluent English so was able to impart so much information. He was brilliant, and organised our various trips without a hitch. The boat was great fun and the standard cabin was surprisingly spacious. The kitchen offered plenty in the way of variety and quantity. All in all, it was a great educational adventure and very good value for money.

  I’m so happy we booked our Nile cruise through Journey to Egypt. I truly can’t imagine working with a better company. Marina answered all of my questions with such kindness, care, and professionalism while I was planning what turned out to be a dream trip for my sister and me. She usually responded the same day, and in the time leading up to our trip, I always felt like I knew exactly what to expect. Whenever I encountered flight issues or had complicated questions, she was there to reassure me and help find solutions. The other people in our small tour group (just four of us, along with our exceptional guide, John) agreed that Journey to Egypt was incredible throughout the planning process. Everything was handled so smoothly. And as a group, we were like a little family. We had a beautiful time. The cruise itself was everything I could have hoped for. This is not a brand-new boat with five-star dining and a luxury-focused experience — but that’s not why we were there. We were there to see Egypt and spend time exploring off the boat (though our time on board was wonderful too!). We loved watching the beautiful Nile views from the deck, and the entire staff on the boat were friendly, helpful, kind, and genuinely fun to interact with. They truly felt like family. We still miss the Princess Sarah and the wonderful crew to this day! We do wish there had been a few more onboard activities. There was a room that looked like it might have been a game room, but it only had a couple of books in languages we didn’t speak. Even so, our time onboard was always pleasant and relaxing. The absolute best part of the trip, though, was our amazing tour guide, John. Of all the guides I’ve ever had, he was truly the best. I was honestly close to tears when it was time for him to leave us. He was incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and kind. He took his role seriously but was also fun to talk to, with a great sense of humor that never felt forced. His English was perfect, and he could answer any question we had. I came into the trip with a basic knowledge of Egyptian history, but I learned so much more from him. He went far beyond the basics and gave us fantastic advice on how to maximize our time at each site we visited. He was not a typical tour guide — he was passionate, engaging, and handled all the logistics seamlessly. I truly wouldn’t have wanted anyone else. Later in the trip, we did have a different guide who was very nice and took good care of us. However, there was a significant language barrier, which made it harder to gain the same depth of information we experienced with John. Even so, we were grateful for his efforts. He really looked out for us. The price was amazing for such a well-organized and memorable trip. Journey to Egypt took care of everything — we just had to show up and enjoy the experience. The drivers were nice and polite with comfy clean vans and we were gifted snacks and water which were much appreciated. Thank you to Journey to Egypt and to John, the best tour guide in the world!

  

• An educational trip to remember

  The cruise was great. A comfortable boat which was not too large. The food onboard was plentiful with good variety. The cabins were clean and pretty spacious, and the staff all did their utmost to provide everything we needed for the journey. The trips to the temples involved some early starts to get ahead of the game but were all well organised with minibuses on hand to whisk us off to the next destination. All in all, it was meticulously organised and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

  The tour very good, they fulfill everything promised, the cruise staff very attentive, varied buffet, comfortable cabins.   We had a great experience, really exceeded our expectations and all the fears reading various reviews for cruises in Nile in general. Our private guide (George) who was great, the boat was very nice, all clean and crew professional. We booked it from the journey to Egypt website. Everything went smoothly, no "Egypt stomach" occurred, even having tried everything from the buffet. The food was more than enough and generally tasty and varied. Nothing amazing though. We did pay for the premium package, we were on Concerto 2 boat. If I'd do it again, I would certainly skip Abu Simpel, really not worth the 6/7 hour drive, the rest of the temples and excursions are covering everything.

  My husband and I booked 2 private tours with Journey to Egypt - the first one was 2 days in Cairo (including the pyramids of Giza and Saqqara and the breathtaking Egyptian Museum), and the second was a 4 days cruise from Aswan to Luxor, including a visit to the unmissable and majestic Abu Simbel temples. Journey to Egypt takes care of everything - from pickup to entry to all the sites; even water and refreshments (so important in the summer heat!) are included. They are impeccable in the organization and the communication. One of the highlights were definitely our guide Alfred (in Cairo) and John (from Aswan to Luxor): fun and knowledgeable, they made touring pleasurable and thoroughly enjoyable, bringing to life the wonderful sights we visited. In short: all the sites are magical, and the smooth and super-efficient organization of Journey to Egypt means you feel supported in everything and beyond (even when we finished our Luxor package, John still wrote us on WhatsApp to make sure everything was ok in our next days by ourselves in Luxor). Also, these flexible packages give you all the flexibility that you would have if you were on your own, without having to worry about a single thing. A wonderful and highly professional service - cannot recommend it enough, and I am a seasoned travel who is not usually fond of pre-packaged tours!

  Just finished the Luxor part of the 4 day tour. I had an amazing time visiting Karnak Temple, Luxor Temple, Valley of the Kings and Hatshepsut Temple with Samer (Sam). He was so accommodating and made sure we were comfortable every step of the way! I’m only sad that I didn’t have him as my tour guide my entire trip. He had so much knowledge of Ancient Egyptian history that it really helped me enjoy these sites. Really last minute I inquired about taking a hot air balloon ride above Luxor and he quickly called a few companies and reshuffled our itinerary so that we were able to go. The hot air balloon ride was amazing and I’m so glad we were able to fit it in! He was also very friendly in helping us take pictures and protected us from uncomfortable situations as people aggressively tried to sell us stuff. All of the restaurants were great, I was looking for something different at the last restaurant and Samer helped me order chicken shawarma which was really tasty. If I come back I’m definitely going to use Journey to Egypt again. The organization was top notch with Samer and Osama!

  

• Best way to see Southern Egypt

  We flew from Cairo to Luxor for the Nile cruise, and Osama had arranged a driver for us to take us to our hotel. He made sure we arrived safely and welcomed us to Aswan the day before the cruise was supposed to start. On the day of the cruise we met our guide, George, who showed us to the boat and let us know the activities for the day. George was an excellent guide with tons of experience giving tours, a great knowledge of egyptian history, and great English skills. He explained the history of each location we visited in a narrative way that really tied the locations together. He knew the best ways to navigate each of the locations, including taking us through Abu Simbel the opposite way of everyone else so we could beat the crowds at one of the temples. The cruise itself is nice and relaxing. Keep in mind that there is no wifi in the rooms, only paid wifi at one of the bar areas. And two of the three nights the boat will be docked alongside other boats, so the windows won't have a good view then. The food was buffet style and tasted decent. Just like everywhere else in Egypt you'll have to pay for drinks, even water. The rooms are good, and when the boat is moving the large window offers a fantastic view of the Nile and its banks. The sights along the cruise are simply incredible, something that would be an unforgettable experience for anyone. A Nile cruise seems like the best way to see it all. • Once in a lifetime experience!

  This was my second and my girlfriend’s first visit to the area of Aswan and Luxor. From start to finish this was an incredibly enjoyable experience. Our tour guide John was insanely knowledgeable, helpful, punctual and genuinely a kind person. He went out of his way to make sure we were happy, safe and comfortable. We would not hesitate to recommend him very highly for your tour. The cruise was also very good, the boat Sarah seemed to be quite nice compared to the others that we saw. The food selection was great and the serving staff was attentive and extremely polite and friendly. The tours were at times, breathtaking but they were enhanced so much by John’s knowledge of the area and history. He presented interesting information and always let us take time to snap photos and see things for ourselves. Overall, everything from transportation to tickets to the cruise was top-notch. Highly recommended and would book with them again in a second. Thanks again!

  Our experience with Journey to Egypt has been an unforgettable one. While we were initially overwhelmed with how to approach a place with so much to see, Journey to Egypt organized our itinerary in a way that allowed us to truly maximize our time here. We loved the fact we were able to tailor our journey with excursions personalized to our taste. The schedule was organized, punctual, professional, and lived up to expectations. John was an outstanding tour guide, having both the knowledge and passion for ancient Egyptian history. He left no question unanswered and was a great representative for us throughout our time here. Journey to Egypt ensured our trip was easy, and we were impressed with the service from start to finish. Overall we had an outstanding time, with the perfect balance of Five Star relaxation and historical learning. Thank you John and team for the wonderful memories!
