• A gem of a tour near Entebbe airport!!

  The Mabamba Swamp Shoebill and Birdwatching tour is an often overlooked gem -- it was a fantastic half-day trip, starting not far from the Entebbe international airport. A boat ride of about 50 minutes takes you to the Mabamba Swamp, which is a very beautiful and large wetlands area on the northwestern edge of Lake Victoria. Ronnie and Kenneth were my guides, and did a fantastic job!! They were very informative, personable, and fun to be with. We saw many bird species, and the highlight was observing 2 Shoebills at close range (one for more than 15 minutes). Ir was a superb trip and very unique experience.   Quick and easy tour to be a part of when you are short on time. The team was very knowledgeable when I had questions about the shoebill or other birds. The boat ride across Lake Victoria and thru the swamp was super fun!

  If you are looking for a reliable guide in Mabamba Swamp, Ronnie is the perfect choice. He is patient, experienced, and dedicated to ensuring visitors have the best possible experience. We saw a Shoebill at close range and many beautiful birds along the way. I would definitely book another tour with Ronnie and recommend him to friends and family.

  Entebbe is where we met our boat captain: Martin. He was so good at finding, pointing out, and identifying birds and mammals (otters!) on our trip across the bay towards Malabar Swamps. Besides finding the shoe bill, Martin’s section of the trip was the highlight of.

  What a cool experience this is - we got to see 2 shoebills and many other birds in the swamp. Such a relaxing morning on the water.
