5.00We strolled among the stones, magnificently guided by Simone, a friendly and very knowledgeable guide. Despite the sun, we enjoyed a lovely walk, clearly explaining both historical facts and artistic interests. I highly recommend his guidance for visiting the Sassi.

5.00Such an insightful trip, all because of our guide. I would recommend this tour anytime. This tour is not to be missed -to appreciate the cave civilisations , life in the sassi, and cave churches, Byzantine art. Our guide was also patient and waited for us, a senior couple, to catch up with the group.

5.00Excellent tour full of information. Tip: Wear comfortable shoes with soft soles because the big cobblestones/pavers can be difficult to walk on for a couple of hours.

3.00Stunning place. Matera is a place not to be missed. Bring hat/sunscreen and plenty of water if travelling in summer. Our English tour guide carried very heavy Italian accent and there’s no headset/earphones provided. It’s extremely difficult to hear from her especially when she tried to explain something with a very noisy background.
