• Amazing first peak in Nepal

  This was an amazing experience. Stunning landscapes, beautiful little towns, snow, rain, sun, cold, and even yes, hot weather. We had it all. Everyone at Nepal Mountain Trekkers were so helpful in every way and went out of their way to make sure this was an amazing trip for me. From setting up other sight seeing pre and post trip, to helping me rent some gear I did not bring, they took care of everything. Despite having one of those, "once every 30 year" storms and being stuck for a while due to too much snow, my guide Sudip was able to work with the team back in Kathmandu to readjust my schedule and still give us a shot at getting to the peak, which we did! In fact, we were some of the first up to the top after the massive storm. After that, Ramesh and Suman were able to change my flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu with no problem, even though Lukla was slammed with trekkers whose schedules had been interrupted due to the storm. If you want a great, friendly team who is willing to go the extra mile, even when circumstances change, I absolutely recommend these guys. Thank you to all of you who made this trip possible!   Aakash Gurung was both professional and transparent regarding the terms and conditions of the Mera Peak climbing: though he made a costly mistake in his WhatsApp message to me, he honoured his word. I salute him for this matter. His advice for the itinerary, which was adjusted due to ongoing road repairs after heavy rain, was reasonable, thus accepted. Krishna, guide/porter, is a patient man who ensured that the rescheduled flights were orderly obtained (imagine the number of tourists grew during those few days of flight delay). He fed me with the likely reasons for airport closures during bad weather; we walked through the alternatives and then came to a sensible agreement. Throughout the trekking, he checked that the rooms were comfortable for me; gave short commentaries along the way and answered questions. I felt safe and relaxed, travelling solo with Nepal Mountain Trekkers, and in the end I have gained 2 new Nepalese friends.

  What's the best way to trek in to Mera Peak? Only with Ramesh's team! A lot of the success and enjoyment during the treck comes from good teamwork and communication and you can be sure that it won't be missed. The treck is not technical but quite demanding but offering majestic views! Ramesh and his guides and porters are very knowledgable and get personally involved in the trips so you can be sure you are in good hands. They are fast, strong and trustworthy. Krishna, our guide turned out to be an excelent teacher as well and at the end of the trip I knew basic Nepali phrases! I am looking forward to continuing to hike/treck/climb with Ramesh and his team for as long as my itchy feet are able!!
