Disappointing open bar experience on birthday excursion

1.00Boat was over an hour late, which is fine because I can be patient and understand that things happen. The only real issue I had was with the open bar. After waiting over an hour for the boat to arrive, the host was rushing around getting the VIP section set up right before boarding. About two minutes before we got on, he gave me a purple wristband, took a quick picture of us, and we boarded. A minute later, I went to the bar to get a beer. The bartender seemed confused by my wristband and immediately got who I assume was the captain or supervisor. He came over and said, "No, no, no, we don't do this." I explained that I got the wristband from the employee who checked us in because I paid for the open bar. To be fair, he did say it wasn't my fault, but his attitude throughout the interaction made it feel like I had done something wrong. When I asked for a Corona, which was supposed to be included, he huffed, listed off the drinks that were included, and then said, "Give her a Corona." The whole interaction was uncomfortable and honestly ruined the experience for me. After that, I didn't even feel comfortable going back to the bar for another drink. I'm usually not someone who leaves reviews, but this was booked as part of my birthday trip and it was a bummer. I paid $75 total for this excursion expecting to enjoy the experience, but the way the situation was handled made what should have been a fun part of my birthday feel awkward and disappointing.
