• Private boat charter for fun and adventure

  If you love boating & adventure I would highly recommend. Boating, snorkeling, eating & fun made for the best day in the Virgin Islands! It was everything we asked for and more. Adam & Megan were awesome, professional and informative. Fantastic around experience and a great way to experience the islands!

  I was looking at my profile and realized I have never reviewed Midnight Sun and so needed to correct that. I have been on the Midnight Sun boats three different times over the last 3 years and every time it's been the highlight of the week , This is a late review as we had our trip last year and I am booking again for my sons bachelor party in January so it remined me I never left a review! The 1st time was with my family when we spent the week in Magens Bay. The Onyx picked us up right on the beach in front of our house which made it super convenient. The crew was amazing and they knew all the best places to go. Lime Out was a big hit and the boat had all sorts of great toys including underwater scooters. The 2nd time was for my son's bachelor party when we stayed on St. Thomas. 2nd time on the Onyx - Lovango Resort for lunch, then lots of snorkeling and cruising before hitting Lime Out for late afternoon tacos and some wicked tequila shots! My son's groomsman said it was literally one of the most fun days they've ever had. The most recent was when charted the Oro with Captain Niya. While it was a short trip to ferry us to Tortola for a weeklong catamaran trip, we still had time to stop at Lovango for some drinks and apps before Niyah breezed us through the customs process for the BVI an dropped us off in Nanny Cay. We saw Captain Niya and the Oro twice while on our cat cruise and she is the absolute best!   We had a great day with Captain Sam on ONYX. He picked us up at St. John and we shot over to Virgin Gorda to see the Baths, then lunch on Saba Rock.   Our family booked this charter and sent all of our information the night before we were all set to set sail in the morning. Our pick up time was scheduled for 9am. We walked down to our pick up spot and received a call at 8:50am informing us that the boat needed repairs and they wouldn’t be able to fulfill our reservation for the day. What a joke! We had 9 people ready to see BVI for the first time and their “new” boat they had listed on their website wasn’t working?!? You don’t check things the night before to make sure your boats are functioning properly?? Why did you wait so long to call and tell us? Extremely disappointing and we are so happy a great charter company was able to book us. I do NOT recommend this charter company. Poor communication and customer service.

  If you're traveling to St. Thomas and in need of some time on the water - choose the 43 ft ONYX and ask for CAPTAIN NIYAH! She is remarkable and a total Bad Ass of the Caribbean! I would not want anyone else handling my excursion - ever! Spend the money, ask for Captain NIYAH and have the time of your life!

  We recently had a BVI day onboard Onyx with Captain Niyah and first mate Parker. I would say it was one of the smoothest operations when traveling to BVI I have ever experienced! We had some requests for the crew and they were able to deliver on every one with professionalism and ease. Our group also had a lot of equipment (kiting/foiling) and the crew were extremely helpful and respectful with the handling of it for us. Our day was perfect and I would like to honestly say it was really because of the crew, Niyah and Parker. You guys killed it and we really appreciate you!!! Hope to ride with you again soon 🤙 THANK YOU

  Extremely poor customer experience. In November 2022 I chartered the 43’. The day before our charter I was informed that the 43’ was out of service being painted and they could put us on the 37’. While a smaller boat my party of 4 had a great time. At that time I let Steve the owner know I had the 43’ chartered on 12/27 for my family and wanted to make sure the bait would be operational. He assured me no issue there and the 43’ would be going in the water over the next couple of days. He went further to say they were bringing another 43’ from Miami so they would have 2 larger boats in the water over the holiday. Fast forward 6 weeks later. The day before my next charter I am informed the 43’ is still out of service (pretty much the same excuse and I expect he didn’t realize I chartered in November and the boat was being splashed in a couple days). They cancelled my charter on the 27th and said they could get us out on the 29th on the 37’. I sent Steve an email the morning of the 28th to confirm. Didn’t hear anything back all day. Brian from Beach Bum charters tracked the owner down and got a confirmation very late in the afternoon. An hour later they called and cancelled due to weather leaving us high and dry. The day of the charter I went to Soggy Dollar and spoke to a few captains from St Thomas and inquired about the weather and the cancellation. They said weather was not an issue and was likely an excuse as Midnight Sun was down a couple boats. I concur with the other Captains since the water taxi ride out to Jost Van Dyke was pretty normal. There are many other charter companies to work with so I recommend going elsewhere. In addition the 37’ has seen better days with the vinyl seats showing a bunch of wear and tear. They bill themselves as a premium operator but certainly fall short of that experience on many fronts.

  We were 2 family’s traveling to St John with Children aged 17-25. We had an amazing Catamaran charter (with Seas the Day) around St Johns and we were looking forward to our New Years Eve charter to Jost Van Dyke with Midnight Sun. Several hours prior to our departure time, we were notified that our friends from Canada would not be able to be on board due to issues with Customs closing early. My Canadien friend booked the charter 7 months prior and said they were coming from Canada. The company offered a day time trip and/ or a night time charter around St John to water island on NYE. Less than an hour from our departure time, we were notified by text that both trips were now cancelled and they rejected our phone calls. Our property manager contacted the owner of Midnight Sun and they offered to get us a trip to BVI 2 days later. We were picked up by Captain Molly on a beautiful boat. Shortly after we made introductions, the negativity began. I requested to go to The baths at Virgin Gorda and Jost Van dyke. She said this would be difficult, as most of our time would be on the boat. I then asked if she could point out the various Islands. She responded that if I wanted to sit next to her, she could do this, as her job was to drive the boat. We enjoyed seeing the Baths and got to Jost with 2+ hours to spend there. As I was returning to the boat, Captain Molly told me to hurry up as we were 10 minutes behind schedule. Once we were back to customs- at 3:45, she told us to gather our belongings, leave them on the dock as she had to hurry and get back. When we paid the bill, we noted we were charged for ice. Unlike our previous charter- where soft drinks, beer, rum punch, AND ICE were provided free of charge. We had an amazing vacation despite this charter. If you would like to avoid an experience like ours, do not book a charter with Midnight Sun

  Went out with Captain Chris, what an amazing day and a great Captain!!! His knowledge and easygoing attitude made our day with him the most memorable of the trip. I would highly recommend a day with Midnight Sun Charters if you’re in St. John!!
