• A unique experience in Xi'An with guide Raphael from Leo's Private Tour China

  We have just finished the third leg of our family vacation in China, with our guide Raphael and the driver David, from Leo’s Private Tour China. We arrived by train in Xi’An where Raphael and David were waiting for us. We headed towards the city center to visit the City Walls, a superb 400 years old construction splitting the old city from the new city. A short drive and we reached the Muslim quarter for a short stroll and lunch in the most typical and local restaurant. The kids could see how the noodles were prepared and the food was simply delicious (suitable for kids who could avoid the spicy food and enjoy plan noodles). Finally we walked towards the oldest and largest mosque in China, a beautiful complex of several beautiful buildings. After a short break at the hotel, we attended the Camel bell Show, a formidable theatrical production with real animals (camels, wolves), narrating the story of the Silk Road (highly recommended). The next day was of course the highlight of Xi’An with the visit of the Terracotta Warriors site, a very impressive display of thousands of statues of soldiers meant to protect the tomb of the emperor. The visit was made special with Raphael’s stories and his status as “The Professor”, having trained dozens of guides for this site. Finally, before heading to the train station, the kids could make their own little warrior, a unique experience! Xi’An was a short leg for us but for sure one of the most exciting. Raphael is a true local resident of Xi’An and his stories and knowledge made our stay really special. We travel a lot as a family, we visited many countries and Xi’An will remain a highlight for us, thanks to Raphael, his amazing stories and his attention to the kids.
