Why did we have to chase the booking?

3.00Having not heard from the nominated taxi company 24 hours before we thought that we should be picked up, we contacted them. They had no knowledge of us or any of the reference numbers we had. We emailed Viator and they did sort out the transfer for that day, but why did they not have things right in the first place, causing us unnecessary stress? The taxi driver who did the transfer was excellent however.
