  I and my family went to Elephanta Caves with Mr Sandeep Mathre as tour guide. The tour was awesome as we were wonderfully guided by him. He is a beautiful person and a wonderful guide. I would recommend him and give him 10 out of 10

  Had a very good time at the cave, which has some amazing high reliefs - the monkeys were also a bonus. Sameer was a very good guide and gave very interesting information about the caves

  Spending the morning in the elephanta caves was a great experience for us. Our guide Sam was super helpful and shared a lot of details about this place. I would recommended it 100%!

  My family and I had a great experience with our wonderful guide, Sam. He was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and kind. We had a few older people with mobility issues and he made sure they were taken care of. He also took a lot of amazing photos for us that you would typically have to pay for. Lastly, his English was perfect. If you visit Mumbai, definitely book this tour and ask for Sam!

  We booked the tour to Elephanta Island, expecting to meet the guide at the India Gateway, but nobody appeared. They called us and told us to take the boat to the Island, which we could have done without taking a tour. At the Island, the guide explained about the caves for less than 30 minutes. He rushed us through the caves and told us to wait for him while he picked up other tourists, but he never showed up again. We paid 6.000 INR for something we could have done by ourselves, this was not really a tour.

  We booked the afternoon tour and had an enjoyable time on the island. The tour guide was very knowledgeable but it was difficult to follow him at times. All in all, a guide is not absolutely necessary to explore the elephant caves as many facts are explained on information boards. However, if you want to delve deep into the culture and history, this tour is highly recommended.
