Cute but overpriced

3.00Most of the experience was great overall because it is unique, staff were friendly, kind, helpful, and it is definitely cute and aesthetically pleasing. In my opinion it is overpriced. For lunch we order the surf and turf but it was the portion size of something a toddler would have eaten and still would have been hungry...and for the amount of money that was paid for the ticket, it was disappointing. We were also disappointed with the views. It seemed like most of the trip were sites of the slums of Napa. We saw lots of trailers, homeless laying about, trash cans and graffiti. If you take a drive down St. Helena highway, you get the same views of the wineries.The price would have been more justifiable if some wine or a small tasting was included. After all, it is a "wine train". They did provide one champagne flute of a sweet sparkling wine but, all other wine was for purchase. Lastly, if your table attendant recommends a wine, be sure to look at the menu or ask how much because it may be $30 a glass and you won't know until the bill comes. All in all, for almost $400 a ticket, it was not worth it. If I had to accurately value the experience, I would say it was only worth $275 at most.

5.00Fantastic. Maxx was wonderful. The short ribs were perfection. This was an anniversary celebration we will not forgot. This was our first trip to Napa hopefully not our last. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

5.00One of our best outings in Napa. The service was incredible. Wonderful attentive staff, relaxing enjoyable ride, and excellent meals. Initially I thought it was pricey however the experience justified the cost. Great job Jamie and others for an outstanding trip. The train travels down through Napa Valley and back with commentary on the surrounding wineries in the area.

Every course was beautifully presented, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The flavors were exceptional, and it was clear that great care went into every detail of the meal. From the appetizers to dessert, each bite was a culinary delight that complemented the overall luxury experience. The staff provided outstanding service throughout the journey, making us feel welcomed and well cared for. The combination of breathtaking scenery, exceptional dining, and first-class hospitality made this a bucket-list experience that was well worth it. If you're looking for a unique way to experience Napa Valley, the Napa Valley Wine Train is a must. We created memories that will last a lifetime and can't wait to return.

4.00Nice overall experience with great views of vineyards and great food. Only downside is that food, train ticket, and gratuity are all included in total price. If you don’t ask about this you will end up tipping twice. Wine train should disclose this.
Five Stars Isn’t Enough for the Napa Wine Train

5.00Our experience on the Napa Wine Train was absolutely incredible from start to finish! The entire staff made the day unforgettable, but Nick and Sandy truly stood out. Sandy was so sweet, welcoming, and genuinely helpful throughout the trip. Nick brought the energy and fun — amazing service, hilarious personality, epic dance moves, and legendary air guitar skills during the open-air car dance party at the end! The food was absolutely stellar — every course was delicious and beautifully prepared. Combined with the wine, scenery, atmosphere, and entertainment, the whole experience felt first class from beginning to end. You can tell the staff truly care about making the experience special for everyone on board. If you’re thinking about doing the Napa Wine Train, do it — we had an absolute blast and can’t wait to come back!

5.00We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary and our friends celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary. We had a wonderful trip. Dressing up, visiting the Grgich Hills winery. The train was great and the food delicious. Excellent way to celebrate.

5.00When I hired the tour I knew what it was about for that reason I was not surprised. It met my expectations, as we made a 3-hour train ride through cellars, in an incredibly well maintained and presented wagon, the welcome glass of foamer, a step lunch and with 4 wine options to taste. The only recommendation I would make, which is perhaps impossible to realize, is that being the same round trip, it would be good if you did not see the same thing on both trips, it would involve the train turning.

4.00We went to celebrate our anniversary and both the ladies at check-in and our server acknowledged it. Food was great. Order the cheese plate upon booking (it's cheaper); it gets the experience started along with your welcome sparkling wine. Drink selection (alcohol and non-alcohol) was great. I think 3hrs on the train was sufficient. I didn't expect the train to rock as much as it did. I was expecting a smoother ride, but I also have never ridden a train before. The music was nice. The crowd was spaced evenly throughout the cars (even for a Monday). Service was great and welcoming. The train was clean including the bathroom. You were able to explore a few other cars after lunch service which was nice to see the other cabin options. This experience is great for a celebration, but try to catch a deal/promo/discount as the price is pretty expensive. You get a free digital photo before stepping onto the train, but be ready as it is only a one-click shot. Cafe has coffee, tea and snacks (no espresso). There a couple backdrops to take photos at while you wait to board. The gift shop has a great selection of wine. They are open when you return to the station, but the Cafe is not. It was a nice experience, but due to the price, I don't think I would do it again.
