• Family friendly Light Hunt

  Our first time in rovaniemi and with a seven year old in tow, we wanted a ‘hunt’ that was going to work for all of us and this really hit the nail on the head. First off, we didn’t see the lights and yet my daughter had a brilliant time. The fact a cottage is available to pop in and out was perfect and meant if we got cold, we could take 5mins inside with a tea. While waiting for the clouds to hopefully clear, there is an ice slide which my daughter entertained herself with. Top this off with grilled sausage and marshmallows and my daughter barely noticed the lights did not appear! We all had a fantastic evening and it was just nice to spend time together. I haven’t even mentioned the excellent pick-up (guide was in reception and already had a kids booster seat in vehicle despite not requesting), the location of the cottage at the edge of a frozen lake (magical!) and the guide doing everything possible to find a glimmer of the lights with constant high resolution photography just added incredibly to the experience!

  Great night with Andre at the lappish cottage. We had hot cocoa, delicious traditional sausages and marshmallows. Beautiful setting. The skies were cloudy but Andre never gave up, we saw the lights on our way back to the hotel. Andre pulled over and took great photos of us under the green glow.

  We were lucky twice — choosing the right date and the perfect provider 🙂 Thanks to Dima, the evening was unforgettable. A frozen lake, a fire by the shore, a cosy cottage, and great guidance, topped off with beautiful Aurora photos.

  The whole organisation was really good and the people were soo nice and they try their best to give you unforgettable moments... Thank you very much. It was my first experience, and it was a great memory! I was impressed. I felt like this was what I was seeing on TV!

  Beautiful area guides were very informative. It was a small group of 7 with a max of 8 which was wonderful. Lovely evening and a place to stay warm when not outside Thanks Dimitri we found all you info re lights interesting Such a pity was cloudy but it didn’t matter the overall experience fantastic.

  Great experience for a family with primary school kids. One location with fire and sledging outside while waiting for the lights wired outside or if too cold in a cottage 30 meters away. Great if you can mot handle cold for long periods. Best of both worlds. Guides were lovely, hot drinks, a sausage and marshmallows to roast made it perfect for adults and children alike! Thanks.

  A brilliant evening, with guides who were honest and knowledgeable about their stuff I.e. the Northern Lights. Lovely old lappish cottage where we could warm up and await the phenomenon that is the Aurora Borealis. An absolutely incredible evening and the lights are awesome

  Great tour, we could enjoy a wonderful time by the lakeside in the forest, with a kind and knowledgeable guide explaining the aurora. Our guide Andrey was very friendly and explained many things to us. In a historic cottage, warm drinks are served, and while waiting for the aurora you can enjoy grilled sausages and marshmallows by the campfire. The atmosphere is excellent and I highly recommend this experience.

  The tour went smoothly and was as described. Picked up from our hotel (in Rovaniemi) on time and it took about 30 minutes to get to the cottage. The cottage overlooks a lake which was frozen and covered in snow. It was a lovely clear night but unfortunately the aurora were not out. I'm sure you would see them from this location if they were. It was handy having the cottage as it was a very cold night and its a useful place to pop into to warm up. You get a sausage and mashmallows that are prepared on an open BBQ outside. The guide was helpful and friendly. There is another tour operator next door but that didn't impact us. The guide takes some photographs that they share.
