• Above and beyond, the perfect evening!!!

  I couldn’t recommend Vigilant & Nathalie enough… I contacted Nathalie a month or so before my trip to NZ to ask for her help in planning the perfect proposal, and that’s exactly what she did. Speedy responses via email put me at ease that I was in safe hands. After explaining roughly what I was looking for Nathalie went above and beyond to make the evening special for us. The boat was beautiful inside and out; and Nathalie clearly was very knowledgable about the conditions. She gave us some information about certain view points we were passing which was great too. We sailed out to an island which was very quiet, and she anchored up and took us to shore in a dinghy and then pointed me in the direction of a wonderful viewpoint which would be perfect for the proposal. It was stunning. Nathalie had clearly gone out of her way to find this spot for us and it was so special. I couldn’t thank her enough for making the whole evening so special for us.. an amazing trip the you simply MUST do when you’re in Russel!! amazing!!

  Brilliant, highly recommended. What more can I say. Nat and Dallas are great hosts, great sailors and full of fun facts about the Bay of Islands. Just do it.

  We were met by Ralph and Anita who made the entire trip a memory for us to treasure. We sailed to the first bay where they took us ashore to climb the outlook post and then into a second bay where we were given a delicious wrap for lunch. My boys (21, 19 and 16) were allowed to steer the yacht, explore the islands, kyack and snorkel. It was bliss. Would thoroughly recommend.

  This was a dream tour!!! Perfect in every way. Nat and Raif were professional, friendly, and informative. It is clear they love what they do. The sailing was smooth.   This was a fabulous experience. We were a group of 10 friends so we could book out for ourselves. Friendly and knowledgeable crew (Nat and Anita) mixed sailing with history and tourist advice. We snorkled, kayaked, hiked, and sailed. Perfect lunch of fresh wraps and coffee, followed by a wonderful sail back to Russell.

  Nathalie and Dallas were great hosts to a perfect day! We motored to an island that allowed us to take a great hike to the front side where we snorkeled and enjoyed our own private beach. When we returned to the boat we enjoyed a great lunch followed by a sailing trip around the islands and back to the dock! They had a great deal of local knowledge as well as historical knowledge that they shared with us during the outing. The weather was perfect as was the trip!

  We rented the boat to ourselves for the day. Nat was great at communicating and while the weather was not perfect we had a great time. We sailed out to an island (1.5 hrs) and then did a full hike around the island (1.5 hrs) had a delish lunch on the boat with our wine and then sailed back. Nat was great to talk to and learn more about the area. On our way back we got to see some dolphins!

  Highly recommend - looking around at the packed charter boats full of tourists I was very happy we chose Vigilant. Booked this as a private charter for my family with 5 kids ranging from 5 - 15. Nat and Anita were super relaxed crew but did everything to ensure everyone was having a great time and with such age ranges that is not always easy. Weather played it's part, yacht had plenty of room, kids were happy, crew was great. Even my wife was happy despite being a chronic seasickness sufferer and reluctantly onboard. If you want a special Bay of Islands experience you don't need to look furthur.

  We spent a magical day with Captain. Natalie and first mate, Matt. We are very experience sailors and much appreciated the opportunity to simply enjoy they experience and leave all of the work to the crew. They are competent , knowledgeable and friendly. Matt prepared a delicious lunch underway and Natalie accommodated all of our requests. Thank you!
