  My wife and I had such an amazing time exploring Hong Kong as a local. We have done several private tours in the past and must say Tony was one of the best. He customized it as we went along and went out of his way to ensure we not only visited tourist attractions but showed us some real gem of local places. We visited temples, local markets, used the amazing public transportation Hong Kong has to offer and experienced delicious local food. I’d highly recommend this tour.

  We have booked several tours in the past and both my wife and I felt this was exceptional. While we enjoy visiting tourist attractions, Tony customized tour for us to explore Hong Kong as a local which made it feel personal and authentic. We went to local market, temples, had cultural and best dining experiences. Most memorable experience was how caring and excited Tony was for us to explore as a local and never made us feel rushed.

  We booked Tony the day before we arrived in Hong Kong. Since this was our first time there, we wanted to get a general idea of navigating the city by a local. Communication with him was easy, clear and straight forward. He asked us what we wanted to see and then he would come up with a plan suited to our needs. He met us at our hotel for our 3 hour tour and immediately we knew we were in good hands. He gave us a background history of the area while pointing out areas of interest. We rode the Star Ferry from Kowloon to Hong Kong Island, walked through Central, Mid Level Escalators, and So Ho. All the while he gave us tips on getting around the city using mass transit. After the tour, we felt we could explore the city on the next few days on our own. We would recommend Wondering Chopsticks for any travelers to Hong Kong.

  If you are looking for more than just a standard sightseeing tour, Tony is the guide you need. He doesn't just show you the landmarks; he brings the history and depth of Hong Kong to life. Tony has a unique ability to contextualize the city’s story, connecting its local heritage to the broader narratives of China, Asia, the world, and even you, the traveler. I love that Tony adeptly contours the tour to your interests and availability. He knows exactly the places and hidden gems suited to each kind of traveler. One of the highlights of my tour was a visit to Biu Kee Mah-Jong on Jordan Street. Tony introduced me to the master artisan Cheung Shun-king (Uncle King), where I was able to purchase a stunning, handcrafted mahjong set. It is more than just a souvenir; it is a piece of art and a lifelong memory that I am thrilled to bring home. Tony’s expertise also extends to the very rich Hong Kong scene. He introduced me to salted duck egg yolk fried prawns, a dish so delicious that I’ve been dreaming about it ever since. He clearly knows the best hidden spots and exactly what to order to get an authentic taste of the city. Beyond his vast knowledge, Tony is down-to-earth, professional, and genuinely kind. He made the entire experience feel deeply personal and seamless. I cannot recommend his services highly enough—this tour was a highlight of my travels.   My husband and I had an amazing experience with the highly energetic and enthusiastic Cassie! Her knowledge and past careers as an architect and English teacher gave her exceptional insight into the landscape and history of Shanghai. Our driver met us in an amazing high tech vehicle and took us to the ferry dock where we joined the VIP section in the front of the boat for a 50 minute trip up and down the river.The lights were amazing. Next we were driven to the Shanghai tower where we enjoyed a delicious dinner in a restaurant in the base. Afterwards we took the world’s fastest elevator to the 118th floor for an outstanding view of the city made even better by our phenomenal guide. Don’t hesitate to book!

  Our guide, Tony, got in touch with us some weeks before we left the UK to introduce himself and in particular find out what we would like to see and do on the day of the tour. This is a great idea because it focused our attention on what we hoped to achieve, which was a good overview of the city, find out what is where and how to get around. Tony's USP is very helpful in this respect because he was born and raised in the UK of Chinese descent, but has lived in HK for some years now, so he was well able to appreciate our objectives, and we had a great tour. In the days that followed we were confident in getting around, hopping on and off trains, trams and ferries like we had been there for years, all thanks to his expert guidance. A great day.
