  We had our 8-year-old do a semi-private surf lesson, and he loved it! It was his very first time on a surf board and hadn’t ever done anything like it. He had a blast and probably gained confidence in trying new new things.

  This was an amazing experience for our family. Kane was our instructor (as well as another young man, but I forgot his name), and both of them were knowledgeable and patient during our lesson. They helped us every step of the way and encouraged us to do better each time. We took our two sons (8 and 7). Both of them got up on the first try. It definitely helps that both of them play sports, and we have done wake surfing before. If you're family is athletic and adventurous, this is definitely for you.

  Great experience with Kane: kind, easygoing and professional teacher. He made us enjoy every single moment of the experience. No dead time, and in matters of minutes we were surfing in a beautiful bay. I didn’t believe that after few minutes I was already surfing! He made it easy for us. I was with my little sisters, it was exhilarating. They also provided us with shirts to avoid getting bruises surfing. Thanks Kane!!

  North Shore Ohana surf school is hands down the best! They were able to accommodate our whole family with a group lesson and two tandem lessons for my youngest two! They taught us everything we needed to know and then gave us pointers and tips while we were catching waves. Kane picked the perfect waves for each of us to ride. Everyone in our group was able to stand up and ride the waves! My two youngest had the best time with their tandem rides. Both Zac and Micheal were patient, protective and caring with my 6 and 7 year old! My brave 6 year old had the time of her life riding the only the big waves with Zac. I would recommend North Shore Ohana surf school to everyone! They went above and beyond to make our lessons amazing and fun!

  We had such an amazing experience with Ohana School of Surf. My family first rented surfboards and we were trying to work on our beginner surfing skills on our own, but without much success. Zack happened to be out in the water teaching a lesson and he was so friendly, called us over to where the good waves were and even offered us some pointers. We signed up for a lesson with him a few days later and had an absolute BLAST. Zack catered the lesson to each of us individually, we worked on paddle techniques, pop ups, reading waves, markers, surf etiquette, etc. And it was invaluable to have someone teaching and giving real time feedback so you can correct any bad habits early and start to get the feel and muscle memory down. Zack has a really special relationship with the water, and it translates in his teaching and his positive energy. It was such a great experience that we signed up for a second lesson and got to strengthen what we’d learned. After that my cousins, uncle and I spent the rest of our trip surfing on our own twice a day, catching tons of waves, and soaking in everything we learned. The one on one care and guidance really took us all to the next level. I cannot recommend this surf school highly enough!

  My husband and I had such a great time! It was a highlight of our trip. The instructor was fantastic. He gave us easy instructions and had us actually surfing within a few tries. And to have done a surfing lesson on the world-famous North Shore was absolutely incredible. PS…we have a new appreciation for professional surfers!

  This was the second lesson we had on our trip. We loved the first one so much that we went again and once again were not disappointed. We did not have anyone to take photos, so I took videos and got a few cool still shots. On my last wave my phone and car key flew off when I fell in the water. I panicked. Zack was able to find them in 15 minutes. So not only did we have a great time, but he helped me avoid a crisis… Zack’s a great teacher and spends a lot of time coaching you on little changes that will help you stand up and surf! At 38, with two knee surgeries, I was able to surf… I felt so alive!!!

  I had the best experience learning how to surf for the first time with Paumalu!! And Zack was super helpful and nice in getting me all set up. Would give extra stars if I could, HIGHLY recommend!
