Alex was such a wonderful host, guide, and historian. He greeted us warmly and enthusiastically. His knowledge of the basilica and palace was thorough yet not pedantic. We saw everything. Alessandro was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about Venice and its history. His ability to explain small details, as well as his ability to be a storyteller, not just a history teacher made the tour much more interesting than the usual guide experience. This was my first experience with a personal, as opposed to group, guided tour and it was well worth it.
