Personalized, friendly, delicious food at Vegetarian restaurant. Gary was knowledgeable. Suggested activities that were unique.

This was a fantastic tour, aided by cooperative weather. Mr. Su (aka "handsome kevin") did a great job narrating (but also giving people a chance to chat, rest, or enjoy the scenery), shepherding us around, and not being overbearing in marketing. The early start to the tour was well worth it as we seemed to beat (to some extent) crowds at all places. Sites were great--enjoyed all--and the amount of time allocating to each and the tour length overall was good. The lantern lighting was a special experience. Communication with the operator was a little slow at times, but a minor issue. This tour would not be good for small children or individuals with mobility issues. Tour bus could be upgraded (seats narrow and no plugs), but otherwise was comfortable and bus driver drove safely.

The lantern is the highlight. I really enjoyed the tour but I have bad knees so a tip is you must have a fitness level to climb between 6-8 flights of stairs to enjoy this tour. The bus gets you near the attractions but you generally have to do stairs or walk up a hill to get to the attractions. Why work around is to leave each attraction 10 minutes early to do the stairs or hills if you walk slowly. Otherwise, it takes you to the distant tourist attractions and you get to see a lot of Taiwan along the way.

We did this tour in the pouring rain but it was still great. A little slippery underfoot - there's quite a bit of walking.

It was a good 9 hours trip but has a few kinks in it. First the details - 15 people total - 50 min drive to geo park for queens head - an hour at geo park - 50 min drive to liufen - 2 hour there. Touristy pricey but quaint - 50 min drive to waterfall - one hour walk very cool. Like it a lot - 5 min drive to shifen for lantern drawing and release. A bit rushed. Had 45 min but good - 50 min and we got off at Taipei 101 Saw a bunch of stuff - mainly paying for the driving to each spot. Group was very punctual. Kinks - hard to hear guide off the bus - bus came very close to where I stood. I felt unsafe for it to do that - incessant beeping for the last 50 min on bus back to Taipei have no idea why Overall it was still memorable and something to do once for tourists

The day was very wet so it is important to prepare with waterproof shoes, decent rain jacket and umbrella if weather is bad. My first time in Taipei and I was very early to be sure I was in the right place. Follow the instructions, it was extremely easy and Jenny was also early so time for a coffee across the road. There were six others on the tour which filled the mini van. You wouldn't have wanted a bigger vehicle as roads were difficult at times. It was very friendly between us. Jenny gave us the information we needed. Shifen Old Street was interesting but very small area. Released the lantern and bought a few souvenirs and luckily a train came through which was great. Time there was ideal. Shifen waterfall was spectacular, with all the rain the falls were amazing. Be prepared to climb lots of stairs, there is a food opportunity here, a sample from the BBQ or a carton of fruit but no more. Jiufen Old Street was higher in the hills and visibility was non existent because of low clouds, also heaviest rain of the day. This was unfortunate as the views from photos look amazing. Very touristy area, took Jenny's advice for the beef noodles at shop 155, hard to find, up an alleyway. Staff not friendly at all, food was ok. Then had difficulty finding a coffee, one booth near beginning was one of two choices and coffee was terrible. Ironically, after we met up again, Jenny led us down a steep staircase to meet the van and there was a great coffee shop. There were a few nice shops in this area, would have liked to have known earlier. Plenty of places offering tea tasting. I tried a few fruit wines and bought a small bottle of Taiwanese whisky. Last stop was the Yehliu Geopark. the little town looked a bit ordinary but once we walked around to the rocks it was magical, definitely the best part of the tour. The torrential rain and howling wind added to the flavour and the Queens Head was one of many amazing rock formations. Toilet breaks were sufficient and lots of opportunities to stretch the legs. If you are challenged physically, I don't think this is the tour for you. Lots of stairs and tricky surfaces. Timings at the stops were good although Jiufen old street and market area was a little long. Apparently we ran early between stops. This was my first trip to Taiwan and I chose the tour to see attractions outwith the city. I thought the value for money was good. I would happily recommend to others. The MTR is fantastic so easy to find the meeting point from wherever you are staying.

Thoroughly enjoyed this tour and would highly recommend to those wanting to explore outer Taipei. Our tour guide Chiara was terrific! Highly motivated, wealth of knowledge and timed to perfection throughout the whole day. She really needs to be celebrated from her boses as her energy is infectious and she made us all feel extremely welcome, even remembering all our names!! 👏
