There is some really cool stuff here, but they need to sack whoever is running this place. It was a crappy experience from the start. Y’all knew the place was gonna be packed with visitors from all over the world here for the World Cup, and *everything* was poorly managed. No signage, no crowd control. Everybody waiting in line for tickets under the awning was left waiting there with no ticket windows open and no communication from facility staff, and then two minutes before the doors opened, people who had been waiting for at least half an hour were told to get in line *behind* the people who had showed up later, and instead of redirecting the line under the awning, they made everybody stand out in the rain. Rude! And then trying to navigate the plane and Space Shuttle, they were not allowing use of the elevator (hello ADA violation), and then without explanation, they closed the egress from the plane to the Orbiter and told us we had to start over and get back in line again! To see the other half of the same attraction! And half or more of the interactive exhibits for kids weren’t working anywhere in the facility. We brought out of town guests here, and we are embarrassed! Furthermore, the “discount” for the membership we purchased upon entry was not honored in the food court. As I overheard a fellow guest say at one point, “this is some horsesh!+.”

This place was pretty cool. I went by myself and it was great to just wonder around. There were a lot of day camps there in the afternoon, but by 3:00 they seemed to leave and the place emptied out by 4:00. I was able to take my time and enjoy all of the exhibits, including the Moonwalkers movie narrated by Tom Hanks, a must see. I was worried it took up too large a chunk of time, but I'm so glad I watched it. At $40 for an entire afternoon I thought it money well spent.

I attended the Space Centre Houston with my family on Friday 29 May arriving at approximately 11am. Having booked 4 tickets at a cost of circa US$145 we were all very excited to go on the 3 tram tours that were included in our ticket price. Unfortunately we were advised upon arrival that the Astronaut Training Facility tour was cancelled due to maintenance works. This was extremely disappointing as my daughters were very keen to view this particular tram tour. Having already paid the ticket cost to include this particular tour I felt ‘cheated’ by the Johnson Space Centre in over promising and under delivering their promised schedules. I would not recommend this particular tour as the tram tour consisted of driving around office type buildings with an automated recording explaining what these buildings were used for. The overall experience was one of disappointment as it just felt that the space centre was more trading n its history rather than providing visitors with an actual memorable and positive experience

A great educational experience with plenty to see and do. Be sure to allow at least five hours to fully explore the exhibits and enjoy the complimentary add-on activities.

The cost for a family of five to get in was so high! Then, we get inside and the first two things we see cost more money. I should have researched beforehand to book the tram tours and planned the day ahead of time. We ate after the virtual reality ride. Food and drink was shockingly high. We went to the first tram tour around 1:00 (rocket park) which happens every 15 minutes and lasts about 45 minutes according to their pamphlet. We had a 2:00 reservation for the astronaut training facility and there was such a long line for the tram, we didn’t make on and would have had to wait another 15 minutes which would have jeopardized our 2:00 astronaut training tour so we left the rocket park line and did a little more exploring. We showed up at 2 and they had a weather delay for lightening. We waited until 2:20 and they canceled the tour for lightening. We left at 2:30 and the weather looked fine. I guess they watch the radar and If lightening is detected anywhere close to the Space Center, they cancel. Very disappointed, but I know they can’t control the weather.

Tram rides were disappointing. Cars clanked between cars. Very young girl had a high pitched voice that was hard to hear. Suggest having a pre-recorded.

It was super busy the day we went, with some events for teenage school-kids going on, so we unfortunately didn’t get to see everything. It was cool doing the tram tour to see Saturn V, but we had to wait an hour to get the tram back to the main space centre even though it’s walking distance which meant we couldn’t then visit Mission Control or the Campus. The exhibits are interesting but don’t have much in depth information. It’s definitely worth going to see these important and fascinating pieces of history, but definitely try to pick what you want to do most before you arrive, just in case it’s busy.

I would say this is a must visit at least once. It is a bit pricey for both the entry fee and food. They don’t allow you to bring in your own food or drink, except water. We had 2 sandwiches and shared a drink and it was $32. The exhibits are interesting as are the short videos you can see. As for the tram, I was not overly impressed. The astronauts training would have been better if we were not a group of 100 walking the length of the building stoping twice for the guide to give us information about what we were seeing, if you could see it, as it might be something you passed and can no longer see. Too large of a group….. The rocket garden was cool, although the outdoor rockets could use a clean up. It was disappointing to see all the algae build up on them. The campus is large and not much to see really. We didn’t get to do Mission Control, as it was sold out for the day. Do the tram early before it gets hot and plan for an hour with no restrooms, which they don’t mention until you’re on the tram.
