  Very efficient way to get the most out of a limited stay in London when you want to visit Stonehenge. Timely pick-up in a nice, comfortable vehicle. (It was a bit odd that there was both a guide and a driver — and bottled water for the trip would have been nice) A very good stay at the site, with sufficient time. Dennis was knowledgeable about the history, and answered all our questions about Stonehenge and London both as we drove and as we walked around. He and the driver worked hard to maneuver through heavy London traffic to get us back as quickly as possible.

  We spent hours on the phone with Viator to confirm that if we book this private tour, we could do the inner circle of Stonehenge. We received a text from Dennis stating this was only for a driver and tour guide. No tickets, no inner circle. We were given no itinerary. After getting his text I called Viator to complain and canceled this tour. Hopefully Viator does the right thing and refunds the money or we will go through our credit card. From now on, do not book private tours without written confirmation of what exactly the trip itinerary entailed.

  Not recommended. The company proposed a time change to avoid traffic and it was the worst time for the entrance to Stonehenge, a long line and waste of time. Additionally the driver stopped for gas. At the end of the day we were not returned to our hotel because the time of the tour was over. The tour guide very kindly accompanied us by subway to the hotel.

  Martha was extremely knowledgeable,& candid,, delivered her insights with warmth & a light deft touch. She asked about our group & individually, and understood where we stood at ability to acknowledge her teachings. At our level. Such a delight to hear her learned perceptions and deftly passing on the history & mystery of all that is Stonehenge!! A wonderful person to instill the spark of learning!! Highly recommend Martha as your tour guide to experience the wonder and glory of all that is Stonehenge!!

  We spent $1000 on this tour for our family - we booked for 5 adults. (3 are teens but - full sized adults) it is 2 hrs each way to Stonehenge. For some reason we had a driver and a separate tour guide. The driver showed up in a tiny car .. for SEVENS ADULTS for 4 hours in this car! No waters, no umbrellas, no arrangements to have lunch for a 6 hr tour) . This was basically an Uber ride in a clown car. Although our guide Suzy was a sweet and knowledgeable woman, a guide really wasn’t necessary as all the information is very accessible at the site. The driver admitted he didn’t really understand the roads of London so on the way back we asked to be dropped off at our flat but the two were arguing abt driving routes. We are laughing now about the whole scene but at the time my kids’ legs were cramping and we couldn’t get out of that car fast enough. It was a sh*t show from the beginning. Highly do NOT recommend!

  Excellent tour. Not only did Shiv provide in-depth knowledge of the history of Stonehenge, he also provided a commentary of the sites as we traveled thru London and the countryside to and from Stonehenge. Excellent information from a local who grew up in England/London. Highly recommended

• Our aggrevating trip to Stonehedge

  I have used Viator before and had great experiences. My one that I booked with Dennis to visit Stonehenge was terrible. Dennis did reach out after the booking, so i had to do so, nor did he give us a list of things that we should Bring with us for the day.. the car provided was vile. Broken shock absorbers and then the airconditiongi broke, and the passenger windows were inoperable, , we were in the car for 4 hours. Additionally, the driver was a smoker, so there was a smell of nicotine throughout the car. The back window while not working, also had a broken seal, so there was road noise throughout the trip. The tour guide sat up front and it was impossible to hear her over the car noise. When we arrived at Stonehenge , Dennis texted the tour guide to say that we needed to leave in 10 minutes or incur an up charge, he then proceeded to WhatsApp , which i ignored trying to make the most of the tranquility of Stonehenge with the constant interruption by Dennis, but truthfully the tranquil, spiritual experience that I was expecting for the day was ruined by the terrible car and Dennis being concerned that we would take too long at Stonehenge which was the purpose for us going there. Disclaimer: We did leave the hotel 15 minutes later than scheduled but I knew that we would make up the time as we did not intend to buy anything from the gift shop or the snack bar.

  Great experience but make sure to allow enough time - difficult to drive there from London, see the site, and return in six hours. Irman, our driver, was friendly and personable. We enjoyed visiting with him on the drive. Download the English Heritage Stonehenge app for great information.

  Even though the driver suggested a different day because of the traffic but nonetheless we made it. Excellent driver. Tour guide knew a lot of facts. A pleasant day minus the traffic!!
