The tea tasting workshop was was one of our favorite activities in Hong Kong. Vivian, the founder of Ming Cha, was our Tea Master. She is incredibly knowledgable and she is also very entertaining! We learned a lot and we laughed a lot. The tea was incredible! We were able to purchase the tea we tried. I also purchased a tea pot & tea cups which were extremely well packaged and made it back to the US in tact. Highly recommend!

We had such a great time learning about how tea goes from a leaf on a tree to a delicious warm drink. Vivian was an excellent teacher and we’re so glad we got to stop here on our trip!

We had a lovely time at the MingCha Tea House, we tried 4 teas, but also learned so much about how the tea was prepared, where it was grown, and really gained an appreciation for the expertise on display. Our host Vivian was fun, charismatic and very knowledgeable as she guided us through the workshop, answering every question we had. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone even faintly interested in tea and tea culture!

Visiting MingCha was a memorable tea experience and a highlight of our visit to Hong Kong. Although I come from a Chinese heritage, growing up in the United States meant my exposure to tea and its cultural depth was limited. This workshop offered a meaningful and grounded introduction that deepened my understanding of tea. The workshop was led by Vivian, whose passion and knowledge were evident from the start. Rather than treating tea as something to categorize or judge, she guided us through a sensory exploration of several teas, showing how flavor and character are shaped by origin, cultivation, timing, and day-to-day production. We learned to taste dry leaves, smell wet leaves, steep tea properly, and notice how aromas and textures evolve with each infusion. What stood out most was the holistic approach to tea drinking. Vivian encouraged us to trust our own senses and preferences, emphasizing that there is no single “right” way to experience tea. The workshop focused less on rules and more on developing a personal and experiential relationship with tea. Thoughtfully curated tea-and-food pairings added another dimension, making each tea more vivid and expanding my view of how tea can be enjoyed in everyday life. With Vivian’s warmth, humor, openness (and Vanessa’s background support), the experience felt relaxed, engaging. I would highly recommend MingCha’s tea workshops to anyone interested in tea, culture, or a more mindful approach to tea drinking.

What an awesome experience! I learned a lot about tea from Vivian and Vanessa. Their warmth, authenticity and genuine caring came through immediately. Vivian is funny and speaks her mind making this an interesting and knowledgeable experience. We tried Jasmine tea, Longjin, oolong and green tea. I had the best time here. It took me a minute to find it (directions and photos on the website at Mingchatea.com) but it was well worth the effort. Vivian is outstanding!!

It was such a wonderful experience with Vivian. I’m originally from China and I’ve always thought I knew enough about tea already. But surprisingly I learned so much from Vivian! The workshop is well structured and very interactive. We tried 4 different kinds of tea which are all quite special. Vivian is heart-warming, extremely insightful, funny and professional. She made this tea experience so special that this is one of the highlights for us in Hongkong! Would love to come back!

I went with my boyfriend, and personally, I think this experience is a great date for tea lovers. The host, Vivian, was very patient and welcoming to people with all types of backgrounds and knowledge. What I loved best is that she is very charismatic. The presenter is extremely passionate about her craft and a genuine tea connoisseur. If we let her, she would never stop talking about tea. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time at the Tea Tasting and Pairing Concept Workshop. Vivian, our instructor, was fantastic. Her deep knowledge and love for tea made the experience so special. She taught us how to brew a perfect cup of tea with such enthusiasm. I learned a lot and had fun pairing teas with different flavors. I’d highly recommend Vivian’s workshop to any tea lover!

This was a fun and engaging workshop where we not only tasted tea, but got to learn about the different types of teas, did some before and after experimentation with tea leaves, learned how to seep and pour tea properly and got to sample the most beautiful tea presentation ever with the unique Jasmine Blossom, a specialty of the tea house. Vivian was so fun, funny and engaging - would highly recommend! One note is that to get to the tea house you have to go through the garage and up the elevator - thankfully when we looked lost outside a local person directed us!
