This was such a unique, wonderful experience I’d fully recommend to anyone visiting Seoul! Grace was so kind and friendly, explained everything clearly and demonstrated all methods step by step. I learned plenty about Korean history and traditions, and understood the deep cultural meaning kimchi holds for local people. I got to make kimchi dishes myself, enjoy a homemade lunch afterwards, and take my handmade kimchi home as a souvenir. I also received a full recipe guide to recreate everything later. Truly an unforgettable cultural activity!

The kimchi workshop with Grace was one of the highlights of our trip to Korea! Everything was perfectly organized, the equipment was great, and Grace provided a lot of information about kimchi and Korean culture in general. And most of all, the kimchi we made as well as the kimchi pancakes were definitely the best I ever had! I fully recommend this experience to everyone who is interested in kimchi and Korean food!

Grace welcomed us into her home and taught us how to make 3 types of Kimchi. She was very detailed explaining fermentation and the different aging of kimchi. We left with a big jar of kimchi that we made. We also made kimchi pancakes and then she served us kimchi and pork which was delicious. I highly recommend this experience. You will be ready to make delicious kimchi when you get home!

Hands down one of the best cooking classes I've ever taken! The host, Grace, is incredibly knowledgeable and welcoming. The class took place in her home, which made the experience feel intimate and personal. She teaches you the 'why' and 'how' behind every step of the process, and she even provided a container for the batch of kimchi we made—it was perfectly sealed and survived the trip home in our luggage! Beyond the kimchi, we learned to make savory kimchi pancakes and were treated to a traditional meal of boiled pork and mandu that Grace prepared to complement our work. She also shared a list of local restaurant recommendations; we tried three of them, and they were all phenomenal. If you’re in Seoul and looking for an authentic cooking class, don’t hesitate—just book this one. Thank you again, Grace!

This kimchi course exceeded all my expectations! The instructor explained every step clearly, from selecting the right ingredients to mastering the fermentation process. I loved learning the history and cultural significance behind kimchi, which made the experience even more meaningful. One of the best things you can do while visiting Seoul, is to take this kimchi class. You will love this class and have the best teacher named Grace. Grace is kind, fun, patient and has a passion for kimchi and food seen through the history of Korea and her own family. She cares about the quality of ingredients and has so much knowledge to share. You will try kimchi fermented for different lengths of time and the kimchi I made in class tasted incredible. The homemade meal that Grace provides will be one of the best you have in Seoul. She is an amazing cook! I still dream of that kimchi pancake all the time. This class is worth your time and money because you will leave with a full, happy belly and some fun memories of making Korean food with good company. You get to take your own homemade kimchi home, which you can even take on the plane. I highly recommend this class!

Update to my original review: I have successfully replicated kimchi in the United States as well as those amazing kimchi pancakes! There were a few hiccups the first time I tried, but Grace was so kind and helped me troubleshoot what went wrong. Mind you, this was WEEKS after I took the class, and she definitely didn’t need to but I think that speaks volumes about the kind of host she is. I make it often for my friends and family and it is a crowd pleaser! I now also have a kimchi fridge in my home. To this day, I stand by my original review that this was one of the highlights of our trip and the only cooking class I have ever taken (and I usually take one in every country I visit) that I have been able to replicate back home. If you want an authentic experience with a local that isn’t just a quick in quick out tourist experience, this is the one you’re looking for. My original review: Where do I even start. If I could put down 10 stars I would. This was definitely one of the highlights of our three week Asia trip. Grace was so knowledgeable about all things kimchi, and a deep rooted family history in kimchi! We learned about the different types of kimchi as well as a little bit of the science and history behind kimchi. The class was so well organized. In the ~3 hour time span there was never a dull moment. We were either actively making something, learning about something, or eating. She makes kimchi making so approachable and I’m determined to try it when I get home and probably buy a kimchi fridge. We also learned how to make kimchi pancakes and I’ve honestly never had better. We were so stuffed by the end. Grace is so sweet and this whole experience felt like I was learning from my sister. She also gave me advice on skin care and gave us recs for the remainder of our trip. If you’re on the fence about it, just book the class. I promise you won’t regret it.

I was looking for some class to learn more about kimchi and how to make it, when we were ending our summer visit of Korea in Seoul. This is the one I visited and it was great. Grace is well prepared, she will teach you to make 3 types of kimchi, she will guide you through history and detailed processes and you will remember more thanks to a mini quiz ;) The whole experience of kimchi making is complemented by excelent food, kimchi pancake & 찌게 with rice&egg. What is the best, I took home my kimchi I prepared and from that time, I'm making regularly about 1kg of kimchi per week 👍 Thank you Grace. I'm looking forward for another authentic korean culinary experience this summer.
