  Absolutely recommend this company! Great hospitality from beginning to the end. They provided plenty of snacks & drinks before and after our adventure. Our guide Tim was awesome, knowledgeable but best of all…kept us safe. We had such an amazing and memorable experience.

  I would have to rate this as an awful experience all due to the staff --- not to the scenery, equipment or water. We are an active-duty military couple that was there on vacation and never did this before. I think we booked the first trip of the season (Memorial Day weekend) and we were the only 2 on the trip so it was us, a guide in our boat with us, and a guide in a canoe following us. 1) The guide in the boat made the trip awful. He started off by belittling and talking down to the other staff member, telling us he was a crack head, talking to him like dirt, and treating him awful even though he took it, was pleasant to us the entire time and was trying to politely take all of the other guide’s insults. The main guide had a dog with him, before we bused to the drop off point, and he made a comment to us that he was taking anger management classes so he wouldn’t beat his dog anymore. When I hear that, I should have known we had this was going to be an adventure…. 2) Then before we even made it in the water, he started talking to us in that same manner and made a comment because I didn’t know the rafting commands that I must be “dumb with rocks between by ears.” I quickly had to stop that and remind him that we are the customer, and we want to have a good time, and he is not going to talk to us like that and let’s just start over with clear expectation on proper respectful was for communications. 3) Our guide continued for the next 2 hours to point out every female that we saw on the water regardless of age (toddlers to seniors) with inappropriate sexual comments that we did not want to hear. 4) For hours we continued to hear anti-government and anti-military comments the entire time. We remained quiet and looked at the scenery just waiting for this trip to end. At the end, the other guide told me I was stopping us for correcting the other guide’s behavior and he thanked for defending him and correcting the way he spoke to us as well. If you are looking for professional staff with unprofessional comments all day, be sure to confirm that staff have been replaced.

  So much fun!!! First of all, we were picked up at the hotel. Our guide was amazing; skilled and funny!! Shared details about the area and knew the history!

  Tim and Jim are very professional and accomodating to your needs- This was our first time ever river rafting and Tim guided us down the river- telling us about the river and other homes in the area and what a great teacher- i highly recommend going with Sierra Adventures

  This was a fun trip that lasted just under 2 hours. My husband and I had a very knowledgeable guide that shared many interesting bits of information about the area and kept us moving smoothly at a nice, easy pace. We had several bump & spins with a few of the more exciting parts to cool us off!

  I booked this tour, saying I was a beginner, and was told it was no problem. When I got there, the guy in the office was curt and rude, telling me I was too fat to kayak. I went anyway. The bus we rode in was filthy and without air conditioning, and neither of the men wore masks. They put me in the kayak, saying “we want to make sure you fit” (I fit just fine FFS), and it was humiliating. The “instructor” left me in the boat on the river for 1/2 hour, leaving me to struggle with no guidance. He told me before we left that if I didn’t do what he said, he’d “get pissed.” It was troubling to be sure, but I was all in with no phone, my purse and keys left behind in the office in a basket (no lockers, also troubling). So the “instructor” came back, and without giving me a demonstration and zero information on safety, we were off. He was immediately angry with me because I was struggling under his inadequate instructions, saying “my boss told me you were going to be trouble.” He was continually yelling at me, and when I said “ok,” acknowledging him, he told he told me to stop saying “ok.” When I didn’t he started mimicking me like a child, saying “Ok” to every question I asked. I told him he was inappropriate and he told me I was annoying and obviously had a learning disability. He was weird and unstable and I felt super unsafe. At one point I tried to make my way to the shore and get help, but I was stuck. He was nice one minute and totally unhinged the next. He started towing me, and it seemed like he was purposely ramming me into rocks and trees; my arm got sliced and at one point he got me stuck in rocks so badly the boat flipped and I got dumped. I got back in (he was screaming at me the entire time)’and we kept going. He said stay in the middle but we were on the sides of the river constantly. When we got back I told the guy at the office that the guide was mean and unprofessional, and definitely not for beginners, and he blamed me, once again, because I was overweight. I thought this would be a fun birthday adventure. It was not.

  Do not waste your time owner is extremely rude and verbally and physically abusive. We were on the river for an hour and he screamed at us telling us we were supposed to be back an hour about . Then at the finish he ripped the tube out of my daughters hand and told us never to come back. Worst experience of my family’s life. WE WANT A REFUND. RIP OFF

  As part of our bachelor party last weekend, Jim and Tim took us kayaking down the Truckee river. From booking and scheduling the trip (very affordable) to first class gear and experience, kayaking down the river is the perfect fun active adventure for any group of friends. They took photos, provided snacks and beers after. This trip is a perfect mix of seeing beautiful river, and a little adventure with the small rapids. So glad we booked this trip, we'll be back
