✳︎You makes 6-7 Matcha incense.It warms up to release the aroma of tea.You don't have to worry about the health hazards of smoke.
✳︎The matcha used is the stuff that accumulates in the crevices of the machine and has to be discarded.It is then ordered in fresh.
✳︎The appearance of the incense is therefore in the shape of edible sweets.The beautiful shape of the incense remains after the fragrance has worn off, so it can be used repeatedly as an aroma stone.
✳︎The clay-like raw material of the incense is soft and has a soothing effect on you.
✳︎The venue is Eshin-in, in the heart of the tourist centre of Uji, Kyoto.Its garden is full of seasonal flowers carefully tended by the abbot.It also overlooks Byodoin Temple on the opposite bank of the Uji River, with a great view.

What To Expect
① Introduction to the world's only ‘matcha incense made from wooden moulds’ and explanation of how to burn it (15 minutes) ② Make 6-7 pieces of matcha incense (45 minutes) The workshop will be held at Eishin-in Temple, located a 5-minute walk from Uji Bridge, the centre of tourism in Uji, Kyoto. The only ingredient used is matcha, which is made from fresh Uji matcha that would otherwise be discarded. It also makes an excellent souvenir for loved ones. ※The instructor speaks only Japanese. If you require an English interpreter, please select ‘Language: English’ when making your reservation. An additional fee of 8,800 yen (per group) will be charged on-site. ※To avoid keeping other customers waiting, the session will begin promptly at the scheduled start time. Please arrive at the venue 5 minutes prior to the start time.

Great Experience with authentic matcha

5.00My son and I made matcha incense as part of our family tour of Japan. Given the rich and deep tradition of matcha in Japanese culture, it was a perfect addition to our trip. The hostesses were very friendly and patient with us as they walked us through actually making our own matcha incense shapes. We were able to pick what molds we wanted which was great because we selected shapes from elements of our trip like a blossom, phoenix, Kyoto, and so forth. The whole experience was absolutely wonderful. We did purchase an incense stand from them to complete our authentic set. We would absolutely recommend this addition to any trip to the area.

5.00我們在 16/5 的下午參加了Inscence kitchen 的抹茶香薰工作坊 由於他們的工作坊和辦公地點不一，我們一開始去錯了場地。很感激他們願意等待我們並於電話中指引我們道路。 在網站上有介紹此工作坊會先介紹香薰的相關知識和歷史。本以為會很無聊，但事實上導師的介紹就像平時和朋友交流一樣自然又易懂，她還展示了一本類似繪本的東西，裡面有很多圖片讓不懂日語的我們也能輕易理解。翻譯人員也很專員，她的英語水平絕對比我們預想的高。 製作過程中，導師也沒有過多干涉我們的製作，反而是一邊和我們閒聊一邊誇我們做得很棒。負責翻譯的女士也和我們分享了大阪不同的去處，她也分享了一間很好吃的漢堡店，可惜我們最後沒時間去品嚐。整個過程十分輕鬆愉快，讓人十分陶醉。 完成製作後，導師還額外贈送了我們一枚香薰，並邀請了我們參觀那裡的花園。我十分建議和朋友參加這個抹茶香薰工作坊，這最對是來宇治我們最喜歡的行程。

5.00We enjoyed the version of this tour that included a matcha-themed kaiseki lunch and it was really fun. The location was right next to the river, and we walked easily across the island in the middle of the Uji river to the shrine where the green-tea kneaded incense class was held. Our interpreter was helpful and fun, and it was fun to mix the left-over tea into clay. Choosing the forms was fun--there were many traditional and geometric shapes to choose from. We left with eight shapes that smell lovely over the tealight burner (also included in the package). I learned that you can purchase green tea essential oil as well, once the smell starts to fade, to freshen it up. We enjoyed both the lunch and the kneaded incense making.
