• Waterfall hike and church experience

  Our tour guide Sam was exceptional, knowledgeable, personable, friendly, and accommodating. We were able to do the hike to the falls, then he graciously took us to the churches of our ancestors, all the while looking up information about the church online while we were in the churches. I would highly recommend him.

  Sam was enthusiastic and full of useful information about the island, environment and surrounding areas. This is one of the less well travelled hikes so made the experience more personable and enjoyable for the whole group.

  We did 3 half day tours with Sam the week we were here. We enjoyed all of them. They all had something unique to offer and all were beautiful. Sam is very knowledgeable and it added so much depth to our experience. We learned so much and he was so open and sharing. Sam is very accommodating, fun to spend time with, and patient. He speaks perfect English.

  Very scenic and slightly hilly hike. The 3 waterfalls were stunning! Our tour guide Samuel was very friendly, patient, accommodating, and knowledgeable. He answered every question we had and provided information about Sao Miguel its history. Samuel made our fist excursion in the Azores welcoming and memorable. He helped take amazing pictures that will last a lifetime. Highly recommend Green Corner Tours!

  Sam is an amazing tour guide. We did 2 hikes with his tour company and we thoroughly enjoyed both. He is very knowledgeable about the plants and the island and history of the island. He is very willing to accommodate the group based on the needs of the group. He comes well equipped with hiking sticks and extra water if needed. I highly recommend booking any of Sam's tours with him. If your unsure about your ability to hike the trail, just reach out to him and he is happy to work with you for what is the best hike so that you have a great experience. Sam was very prompt with pick up and extremely easy to communicate with. His English is fluent and we were able to chat very easily with him.

  We had the best time hiking with Samuel! He picked us up from our hotel, and we were lucky enough to be the only two on the tour. Our first stop was the tea plantation, where we learned so much about tea production from him. He explained everything so clearly and interestingly. We then went on the waterfall hike, and along the way he taught us about the various plants we encountered and generally made our hike so safe and enjoyable. We had the best time, and we cannot wait to come back to the Azores to do another excursion with him!

  This is an exceptional hiking tour along a beautiful trail through a rustic village and up and down a lush forested mountain. The three waterfalls along the trail are stunning. Samuel, our guide and tour operator, skillfully and safely helped us navigate the terrain and made the most of our experience by telling us about the flora and rock formations along the trail. The Gorreana tea plantation was a lovely stop after a vigorous hike. Samuel’s explanation about tea harvesting and processing was very informative. The warm cup of tea was most welcome!

  Samuel was outstanding! Our 4-hour hiking and tea plantation tour was excellent, all because of Samuel. He provided great information about all sorts of topics. Due to rescheduling the day of our tour, it was just the four of us, and Samuel was very accommodating since two of us weren't up for too much hiking that day. We had a wonderful experience due to Samuel. Thank you!
