  The sommelier was exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly, and informative. He didn’t talk down to us and enhanced our knowledge of Ports. He also shared some excellent pours and told us what to look for when buying. Great time.

  We did 4 Port tastings during our visit in Porto and this one exceeded the others by far. Michel is an exceptional host who is extremely knowledgeable. He took time to ensure that our experience was over the top! I cannot possibly say enough positive things about this choice. Do not pass up this opportunity!

  This was an amazing experience, definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Portugal. Our guide was friendly and quite knowledgeable. The atmosphere was cozy and lovely. Everything was thought out in detail and with care. Definitely recommend it!

  Mikael greeted us in front of the restaurant, and from that moment we had an amazing “tour” of the different ports in the terrace of the Michelin guide restaurant, Gruta. We had carefully selected pairings like olives, cheese, ice cream, chocolate and brownies (made by Mikael himself) which all tasted amazing! Mikael shared stories from his life and family from France to Portugal and through his experience as sommelier working in various restaurants to get Michelin star(s). Mikael is however very down to earth and he would answer all our questions about the port production, all 12 wine regions in Portugal (and some outside of Portugal) and spent a lot of extra time and extra tastings to make our experience truly amazing and certainly memorable. If you want to learn something about port wine, its production in a nice environment and taste 5 very nice ports with pairings, we would highly recommend giving Mikael a visit! We would certainly go again when we have the opportunity!

  What a great experience this was! Michael is extremely knowledgeable and caring with the participants. This was more than a tasting, it was a whole experience! The time past so fast and the pairings were just perfect! You won't regret!!
