Our journey included Lalibela, the Danakil Depression, and the Omo Valley, and every part of the trip was perfectly organized and unforgettable. First of all, we want to thank the owner, Mickey, who was extremely kind, polite, supportive, honest, and always available whenever we needed help or information. From the beginning of the planning process until the end of the tour, he made everything easy and stress-free. His professionalism and genuine care for his guests made a big difference in our experience. In Lalibela, we were accompanied by our excellent driver Woreku and our knowledgeable guide Ayalew. They made our visit to the rock-hewn churches truly special. Ayalew explained the history, culture, and religious significance of the churches in such an interesting and passionate way, while Woreku always ensured we traveled safely and comfortably. The Danakil Depression was one of the most unique and extraordinary places we have ever visited. Our driver Nati was fantastic throughout the trip. Driving in such extreme conditions requires great experience and skill, and Nati handled everything perfectly. He was friendly, professional, and always made us feel safe during the adventure. Our Omo Valley tour was equally amazing. Visiting the different tribes and learning about their traditions was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Our driver Jocy was excellent — very reliable, patient, and always helpful. The roads were challenging at times, but he managed everything with great care and professionalism. Overall, Danakil Depression Tours exceeded all our expectations. The team was organized, punctual, friendly, and deeply knowledgeable about Ethiopia and its culture. Every destination was unforgettable, and the service we received was outstanding from start to finish. We highly recommend Danakil Depression Tours to anyone planning to visit Ethiopia.   Last week, we finished a wonderful 10-day tour in Ethiopia with Danakil Depression Tours. We were a family of 7 people, and we had so much fun exploring the beautiful and diverse parts of Ethiopia. We visited Lalibela, Danakil Depression, and Omo Valley. Dallol was our favorite place, Lalibela was the most impressive, and the Mursi tribe experience was truly unique. Our guide Yohans and driver Getachew were the best. They were always on time, flexible, friendly, and very professional throughout the trip. They made our journey comfortable, safe, and unforgettable. We highly recommend them to anyone planning to visit Ethiopia.

  I had the most incredible 10-day tour of northern south all thanks to Danakil Depression Tours! mickey put together an amazing itinerary and helped me with every step of the booking process, even navigating different option to submit payment. Melaku was the best tour guide! With only a few months on the job, it was very impressive how he drove smoothly for hours through windy roads, some with lot turns, and also navigated all of the details of the trip with ease. He was quite the photographer too and captured amazing shots and memories that I can share with friends and family back at home; he was incredibly patient, kind, trustworthy, and fun travel companion! 11/10 would recommend Danakil Tours and definitely book with melaku if you can!

  Our 10-day tour to the Danakil Depression was beyond extraordinary. From the moment we departed, everything was perfectly organized — professional guides, experienced drivers, and a team that genuinely cared about our safety and comfort. The highlight was witnessing the glowing lava lake at Erta Ale at night — absolutely surreal. Walking across the vibrant sulfur fields of Dallol felt like stepping onto another planet. The salt flats and camel caravans added a cultural and historical depth that made the experience even richer. Despite the extreme temperatures, the team ensured we had enough water, proper rest, and delicious meals throughout the journey. Camping under the stars in such a raw and powerful landscape was something I will never forget. This tour is not just a trip — it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
