  Incredible, interactive! Linda was an amazing tour guide and with an exceptional storytelling we travelled back in time to discover all about the concept of witchcraft from back then til today. We deeply recommend this tour to anyone seeking to discover another important part of our dark human history ! Enjoy!

  This tour was amazing! Our guide, Linda, was very knowledgeable and hilarious! I felt like I was taking a tour with one of my best girlfriends. One of the things I enjoyed was the respect Linda paid to the women who were unjustly persecuted. Amazing overview of the history, including a glimpse of the lives of women during this time. Also, my medical scooter battery was running low at the last stop and I sent my husband ahead to finish the tour. Linda came back and finished where I was! ❤️

  I really enjoyed the Witches: Trial and Truth tour with Linda. I found the stories to be interesting and I definitely learned more about the witchcraft accusations and how sad some of the stories were. If you’re interested in learning more about the local history from many angles then do this tour. Learning about the witchcraft accusations opened my eyes and enabled me to see this part of history in a different light. Thanks to Linda for sharing these incredible stories.

  An absolutely fantastic tour. I learned so much about a dark period of history that seemed to delight in the suffering of the weak. The walk was gentle, not too many hills and steps. Definitely a tour worth taking!

  Excellent witch tour led by Linda who was a total star guide. She was informative and passionate about the subject of the Scottish women and men accused of witchcraft etc. She interacted with the group and did not rush us ftom one stop to another. Would not hesitate in recommending this walking tour to others thinking of booking it. Go ahead, book it and you will not be disappointed! Five stars all round.

  Mercat Tours meeting place was very easy to find next to St Giles Church on the approach to Edinburgh Castle. I was early for the tour and given a friendly greeting by staff .. on check in I was given my audio pack and met Linda our tour guide. Linda and I chatted about the tour and she asked me about my personal interest in the plight of the accused Scottish witches. Linda is a very knowledgeable guide and gave us a very detailed account of the political background together with reformation of the church in Scotland that exacerbated fear and distrust especially of women. I would really recommend this tour and I will bring along friends next time … a story that must be told
