5.00Alex was an excellent tour guide and the entire tour was fantastic to learning about Mount Etna and its volcanic history to the amazing late lunch we had at the winery that he took us too. Overall, an excellent tour and highly recommend it especially if you are traveling with friends.

5.00Alex was a great guide. He was extremely knowledgeable about Mt Etna. He was very helpful as we walked. The hike was not strenuous but one must not have any mobility issues. The Gambino winery was in a beautiful setting and gave a great amounts of food and wines. The experience was one of the highlights of our two week trip in Sicily.

5.00The tour of Etna and the wine tasting afterwords was a perfect combination of hiking, education on Etna and volcanic effusions and eruptions, and a mid-afternoon apertivo. Alex was an informed, professional, and hilarious guide for our journey to and up Etna. He has a passion for volcanic activity and happily answered any question we asked. He knows about the history of Etna, the frequency and effects of eruptions, and global activity as well. The transport in an air conditioned van was very comfortable, and Alex had everything we needed for our safe, enjoyable excursion: the first activity was a brief descent into a small volcanic cave, and the second was a managable ascent to view the many craters and wildlife on the north side of the mountain. Alex kept us laughing and informed throughout, and in the mid-afternoon, we were able to sit and relax with the most delicious selection of regional wines from a family-owned winery. Paired with those wines was a generous sampling of bread, cheese, meat, gazpacho, which was followed by a small plate of spinach, potato and sausage. We are all amazed at how much received for the money we paid. A perfect day, a wonderful guide, spectacular views, and phots and memories I return to again and again!

5.00This tour was thoroughly enjoyable and extremely informative. Our guide Alex made the experience memorable with his vast knowledge of Mount Etna and volcanos all over the world. His passion for the subject is contagious and I wouldn’t want any other guide for this type of tour because of his warm personality. He was also very attentive to our individual needs in the group and helped make sure I descended safely from the hiking portion as I wore the wrong sneakers. Advice to fellow travelers: wear sneakers with sufficient tread to prevent sliding on small rocks/gravel, bring a hat and light jacket, wear sunscreen, bring a bottle of water. The wine tasting was also fabulous in every way-wine, service and food. Overall this was the highlight of our stay in Taormina and we HIGHLY recommend you book this particular tour. Many thanks to Alex!!!

5.00Alex had a great deal of knowledge on volcanoes and Sicily he shared. It was have been great to dive more into the wider history of the islands and diversify the information. Gambino winery was excellent and they were generous with food and wine, but ren minutes to have an espresso outside after a meal and enjoy the grounds would have been appreciated. Lastly, please include the inclusions on the trip in the booking like F&B as we all packed snacks and share an itinerary with timings once we are all on board

5.00Spectacular views with just the right amount of hiking for us. The wine tasting experience at Gambino was the best ever. Our guide, Alex, must have had a PhD in volcanology because he knew everything about Mt. Etna and other ones around the world. He made the mountain come alive. Highly recommend this tour experience.

5.00We had the best time on this tour .. the communication prior to the tour was good with Tiziana! On the day we met Alex our guide for the day ! A man who is so passionate on all things volcanoes, kind and cared to ensure all in the group had a good experience! We started driving up the mountain and stoping for a quick Espressos and then went trough a cave and then we went hiking the crater .. hiking shoes and walking sticks were provided plus helmet for the caves! What a lovely day .. sun shining and snow and fresh air with a fun and knowledgeable and a guide who took safety seriously! Hey guys ..🤓 also we then finished off with an amazing wine tasting of 6 beautiful wines plus lunch ! No Complains here as refills of good and wine were given .. 10/10 tour .. thank you 🙏
