5.00The tour bus left on time and we were warmly welcomed by our driver and guide, Rachel, then joined by a second guide because there are two options for walking: a manageable three kilometre walk with stretches of incline (not advised for people with balance issues) and a level 900m stroll through a forested reserve. I went on the shorter walk because three kilometres at 7.30am is not for me! Rachel was an absolute font of information on the trees, plants, wildlife and history of the island as we ambled through the reserve. We were then bussed to a lookout to meet up with the other walkers and enjoy a hot English breakfast! Scrambled eggs, bacon, beans, sausages and toast alongside juice, coffee and tea. The weather gods were kind so it was a delightful experience!

5.00A lovely walk in the beautiful Norfolk Bushland. With interesting facts from George and Rachel and even a magical tree that is worth seeing. The views were stunning and the food wasn’t bad either.

5.00The walk itself has some great views and the breakfast at the end of it was plentiful and very well appreciated. The start of the walk is steep but it is then an undulating walk through the rain forest and beside the ocean. The pace of the walk can vary as some people went ahead but others (like me) took an easy pace. Anytime you want a rest on the trail you can, with one of the Baunti guides never leaving the last or slowest person. If you are reasonably fit it is a great morning out.
