  José is an incredibly colorful, inspiring, warm, and extremely friendly person! During the day, I traveled around the entire island of Pico with him. Along the way, I visited his vineyard and charming cottage, tasted local wines, ate a delicious tuna steak, visited the Whalers' Museum and lots of viewpoints! José's knowledge of the history, viticulture, culture and people of the Azores is stunning!!! Hats off to him!!! José is a true guide with passion!!! The day I spent with him was simply a real treat for the soul!!! I will definitely return to Pico and I will definitely meet José again!!!

  José is the real deal when it comes to Pico wine tours. He has a depth of knowledge and genuine passion for sharing it. We did a half day tour that included 1 winery and different vineyards, lava flows, wine museum and driving around the island.   This was a wonderful private tour that gave a an amazing local Perspective of Pico. After having done self Guided travel in Dao Miguel with a rental car it was great to be able to relax and really enjoy all there was to see of Pico. Jose is super knowledgeable and proud of his island and entertained us with stories while also telling us the history and showing us the highlights of the island. There is a lot to take in, I would suggest maybe two 4 or 5 hr tours as trying to do a full day was pretty overwhelming.   Jose was a really amazing tour guide. He was very knowledgeable about the wine industry as well as the local history of the island. We booked him for a private tour on a rainy Sunday, and even though most wineries were closed he gave us a wonderful scenic tour. We really cannot wait to come back and bring the rest of the family. Highly recommend!

  I booked a wine tour with José and spent a wonderful afternoon with him, that day I was solo, so José was my private guide! He shares with passion and enthusiasm the story of Pico, the Azores, wine and we go on the field on his own vineyard I didn't see the afternoon pass, despite rainy weather that day José showed me several places and local curiosities I highly recommend Frederique

  Super boa tour! Mr. Jose is a very friendly gentleman and very cult. It offers a myriad of curious facts and leads to places that we couldn’t have gone to if we didn’t take the tour with him. We like it!

  Absolutely excellent excursion with Jose, his knowledge in depth love of the Açores and story telling is unmatched. The visits to perhaps the best restaurant I have been to was a perfect example, the wine tasting, visit to the earthquake museum and visit of Pico mountain were memorable. I highly recommend this excursion and suggest you do the full day tour as even with that we just could not cover all that is Pico, thank you José.
