  The worst guided tour I’ve ever had. Completely unprofessional. You can’t call yourself a guide when you’re just reading from a book and can’t form a sentence in French. You should stick to the language you actually master.

  Elvira is a wonderful guide who loves Montpellier, its people and its many dogs so she was amazing at showing me the various neighborhoods I was interested in visiting and learning about. She is kind, well informed and an excellent communicator so I highly recommend her.

  Elvira was a wonderful guide who showed me the neighborhoods I was interested in looking at for potentially relocating to Montpellier. She has a wealth of knowledge, is a really positive and fun person who loves dogs and really made the tour extremely enjoyable. Elvira was also a very good communicator ahead of our walk, and I highly recommend her.

  Very interesting, thoughtful and kind guide. She knows the city well and is not stingy with her comments. It was very hot during our visit and she adapted well to make us feel comfortable.

  We wanted an introductory walking tour of Montpellier the morning after our arrival. This product offered endlessly flexible times, a long tour, and a low price. That combination should have warned us off. The evening before the tour we received a message that while they had taken our money and confirmed our booking, the guide was not available in the morning but only in the afternoon. Needless to say, this wrecked our plans for learning about the town, then having lunch, and having the afternoon free. So a very bad start. Then we met our guide. The nicest young person possible, just not really a tour guide. She was a student who had arrived in Montpellier last fall from Turkey, knew nothing about the city nor its history. She was looking for a job off the books and had landed on this gig job. While that is all admirable, it really was not suitable for the product we were buying. But I do not fault her. The problem is with the company and I believe Trip Advsior, who owns the site where we found the tour. We generally use ToursbyLocals, where the guides are professionals, the prices are higher, and where in my experience they cannot meet your needs (such as not being available at the time you request) they let you know. I have learned my lesson

  Gene tailored my your to a pace I could manage even though our ages were at least 40 years apart. We had quite an interesting dialogue regarding my interests and how Montpellier with its varying history and architecture was of interest to me. Both of us learned a lot from each other. I’m
