What To Expect
マサチューセッツ州プロビンスタウンの商業通り387-395番地にあるカナーリー埠頭は、歴史的にも町で最も絵のように美しく、頻繁に塗装された埠頭の一つで、オフセットされた桟橋上屋とキューポラで知られ、目を引く構図を作り出していた。 元々は19世紀にデイビッド・コンウェルが所有していたが、捕鯨船や漁船の艤装の拠点として機能していた。 1882年、L. ピカート・アンド・カンパニーは、魚の箱詰めと缶詰製造の事業として再生し、隣接するスモールズ・ワーフは魚の燻製に利用された。 埠頭は1926年に沿岸警備隊のカッターUSCG Morrillが嵐で真っ二つに切断した際に損傷した。 2019年、プロビンスタウンの町はランドバンクの資金と40万ドルの助成金を使ってウォーターフロントの半エーカーの土地を取得し、カナーリーワーフパークに変貌した
Provincetown Library
プロビンスタウン公共図書館（プロビンスタウンこうきょうとしょかん、Provinstown Public Library）は、アメリカ合衆国マサチューセッツ州プロビンスタウンの商業通り356番地にある、1860年に建設された第二エンパイア様式の建物である歴史的なセンター・メソジスト監督教会内にある文化的・歴史的な逸品である。 2002年に図書館に改装され、本、デジタルリソース、プログラム、イベントなどを提供するコミュニティハブとして機能している。 その象徴的な特徴は、プロビンスタウンの海事遺産を記念して、メイン閲覧室に展示されている66フィートの漁船スクーナー「ローズ・ドロテア」の1/2スケールレプリカである。 この図書館には2023年に寄贈されたアンソニー・ブルダン・コレクションを含む郷土史の重要なアーカイブも収蔵されており、プロビンスタウン時代の原稿や資料が展示されている。 年中無休で営業しており、歴史的な魅力とモダンなサービスが融合した、住民や訪問者にとって欠かせないリソースです。

We covered a bit of history, arts, food, entertainment, local culture, and the natural environment in a short time. We learned a lot of interesting historical and cultural tidbits about Provincetown that we would never have noticed on our own.

5.00Such an informative and lively tour of Provincetown. This was a tale of two travelers- I’m from New England and learned lots of new facts and enjoyed a classic lobster roll. My husband is from the south, has never been to the cape and is iffy on lobster- he loved the lobster roll and said it may have just changed his mind on lobster and he’s a huge Anthony Bourdain and history junky and got all he could ask for from the tour!

5.00Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about Provincetown. We enjoyed learning about the history of the town and seeing historical areas that we would have overlooked not knowing they were there. I’d list a couple but wouldn’t want to spoil the surprise for others. We also enjoyed the treats that we experienced during the tour.
