  Wonderful day touring Douro! Alfredo took us to great wineries and an amazing lunch. I highly recommend this tour. It was nice not having to research where to go and not having to drive!

  Our day in the Douro Valley with Alfredo was one of the highlights of our trip to Portugal. The wineries, scenery, food, and river cruise were all wonderful, but Alfredo is what made the day special. A private tour means spending many hours together, and he made the day feel comfortable, relaxed, and enjoyable from start to finish. He was knowledgeable, engaging, and fun. Somehow, he struck the perfect balance between teaching and guiding us and simply letting us enjoy the adventure. My friend of more than 30 years and I had been looking forward to this trip for months, and Alfredo helped make the Douro Valley one of our favorite parts of it. We covered a lot during the day, yet never felt rushed and had plenty of time to appreciate both the beauty of the valley and the people we met along the way. If you're considering a Douro Valley tour, I highly recommend Alfredo and Tourvent.

  What a wonderful day. Alfredo did a great job with the selection of wineries and the pacing of the day. We definitely ate and drank too much but had no regrets. We purchased wines to ship home and others to take on the plane.

  Our day with Alfredo was a gem! He was punctual, professional, very knowledgeable, extremely friendly, personable, open, a fantastic driver and travel guide. It is clear that Alfredo has nurtured genuine relationships over many years with the owners and staff at the select locations he took us to. We were taken to beautiful locations, treated to an exquisite meal (honestly the BEST meal we’ve had in Portugal to date) and met with gracious winemakers who shared their passion for their craft. Our time and money were well spent on this day trip and we would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience the beauty and deliciousness (food and wine) that the Douro Valley has to offer.

  We had an exceptional experience on our Douro Valley wine tour and would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a truly refined and memorable day in Portugal. Alfredo arrived promptly at our hotel in an immaculate Mercedes, immediately setting the tone for the level of comfort, elegance, and professionalism that continued throughout the day. During the scenic drive from Porto to the Douro Valley, he shared fascinating insights into the region’s rich history, winemaking heritage, and local culture. His knowledge, warmth, and polished service elevated the entire journey. We visited three stunning vineyards, each offering its own distinct character, exceptional wines, and spectacular panoramic views across the valley. Every stop felt thoughtfully selected and beautifully curated. A particular highlight was an exquisite three-course lunch paired with outstanding wines in a breathtaking vineyard setting—an experience that perfectly captured the sophistication and charm of the Douro. The private boat cruise along the Douro River was the ideal finale, allowing us to relax in complete serenity while taking in the magnificent landscape from the water. From start to finish, the day was seamless, indulgent, and unforgettable. Alfredo delivered impeccable service throughout, and we would not hesitate to recommend this tour to anyone looking to experience the Douro Valley in style.

  Outstanding from start to finish. Alfredo was punctual, kind, and amazingly knowledgeable about wine, Douro, and most things Portugal. He chose excellent wineries to sample and a wonderful meal for us to experience in addition to the river ride. His career includes hospitality and it shows.   We truly had the most amazing day with Alfredo. He put together such a personalized, comprehensive itinerary. We got a taste for many sides of Portugal’s rich wine culture from the smaller, family run winery to the larger establishments all with a boat tour to break up the day. Alfredo is simply a gem & full of knowledge. Cannot recommend enough!!
