What To Expect

Rotonda di San Lorenzo

ロトンダディサンロレンツォは、ロンバルディア州（北イタリア）のマントヴァにある宗教建築です。市内で最も古い教会です。現在はエルベ広場の地下に沈んでいます。おそらく、女神ヴィーナスに捧げられたローマ寺院の跡地にあります。 11世紀後半のカノッサ家の治世中に建てられました。エルサレムの聖Sep墓教会に触発され、聖ローレンスの教者に捧げられており、中心的な計画を持ち、マトロナエウム（女性の忠実なロッジア）や11世紀から12世紀のビザンチン派のフレスコ画などの古代の特徴を維持しています。セントローレンスのMar教を描いた後陣の別のフレスコ画の断片は、15世紀のものです。ロンバードの伝統によると、この建造物はレンガで作られていますが、古代の建物に由来する大理石で2つの柱とその他の細部があります。

Basilica di Sant'Andrea di Mantova

サンタンドレア大聖堂は、ローマカトリックの共同大聖堂であり、マントヴァの小聖堂です。北イタリアの15世紀ルネサンス建築の主要な作品の1つです。ルドビコ3世ゴンザガの委託により、この教会は1472年にレオンバティスタアルベルティの設計によると、ベネディクト会修道院のある場所に鐘楼（1414）が残っています。しかし、建物は328年後に完成しました。後の変更と拡張によりアルベルティのデザインが変更されましたが、教会は依然としてアルベルティの最も完全な作品の1つであると考えられています。マンテニャ広場に面しています。

With the social cooperative of Barlassina today trip to Mantua. At 11am we boarded and went around the lakes and part of the Mincio. A delicious lunch on board and at our disembarkation at 15.30 we started our walking tour around the old town with a very good guide. It was a perfect day also thanks to the shy sun and is an experience that I recommend to everyone.

Visit to the Basilica of Sant'Andrea with access to the dome with a panoramic view of the city of Mantua and the interior of the Basilica with the excellent guide and guide Tiziana Portioli who with her knowledge and narrative skills knew with considerable skill cheer us the beautiful day.

Tiziana is an excellent guide, not only extremely informative of the history, architecture and significance of the important elements of Mantova’s historical centre, she is very personable and gave us some helpful advice about timing our tour, and our further plans in this gem of a city. A most enjoyable experience. Highly recommended.

Tiziana provided an informative and fascinating introduction to the history of Mantova and the reign of the Gonzaga family. She covered the history and people associated with cathedrals, the ducal palace, and even merchant buildings dating to the Middle Ages. Our family enjoyed the tour very much. It provided us with excellent context for our walk through the Ducal Palace.
