We saw two polar bears, even though it was the off-season, as well as a huge number of birds. The experience of being in a buggy is fun, though the buggy itself was crowded, and it made me fairly motion-sick. The lunch is reasonably tasty.

Dylan was our driver for a fantastic excursion on the tundra buggy this August. We were surprised and thrilled to see seven bears: one female who spent a lot of time showing off for us up close, a mom and two coys (cubs of the year, about 8 months old), a distant mom with one coy, and one solo bear who vanished almost immediately. We also saw a caribou and a few bald eagles. Dylan was a great driver and so knowledgeable about the bears. He made sure we were well taken care of. Although the excursion was almost sold out (38 out of 40), it didn’t feel packed and everyone had good views. Lunch was a surprisingly tasty soup. We would have gone again during our time in Churchill if it had been available!

Jim, our driver, did everything he could to allow us to see polar bears, even though it was the off season. We saw a mom and two cubs from a distance, we saw one napping on a rock but the highlight of the trip was his manoeuvring of the vehicle over huge rocks to give us a perfect view of a bear feeding. He also pointed out bald eagles, cranes, ducks and tundra geese and we got amazing photos.

We had a lovely tour with only 4 other passengers. Our guide Jim was super. He was excellent at finding wildlife. We were there on a hot day and there wasn't as much as usual yet he still make the tour interesting. The lunch on board was very good. It was interesting to see the tundra in the summer. I think we will come back for a tour in the winter.

My husband and I took the Summer day tour last week and had a nice time. Our guide, Jim, told great stories and had a great sense of humor. He did his best to find animals throughout the drive. He helped us see a polar bear, ptarmigans, red fox, bald eagle, tundra swans, and a variety of birds. It wasn’t yet polar bear season so we were happy to see the one we saw. The soup and sandwich lunch was good and could be altered in advance for vegans too. There is a bathroom on board and a viewing deck on the back of the buggy. A unique way to spend the day.

Was planning this trip, booked the tour and prepaid (required). A train derailment has prevent us from travelling to Churchill. All other events we have planned were canceled without effort or issue (they understand this is out of the visitors control). This organization refuses to refund the prepayment, saying they don't provide refunds. Do not use.

The tour was good, we saw some animals - actually I crossed off all animals I anticipated to see except snowy owl, although, we only see one individual of each species. What I have as a major disappointment is the neglect of covid measures: at lunch we were told not to go out to the platform to eat; so all 40 of us confined to the vehicle cabin and we all have to take off our masks. I opened my window, but it was a cold day so not many guests did the same. I can understand that Frontiers North wants to protect the ecology as much as possible by preventing food to drop onto the tundra (by mistake or by malice), however, this is an unusual time and we need to act accordingly. I believe the chance of food "escaping" onto the tundra is a lot smaller than someone catching covid in this case. Frontiers North please consider to relax this rule until the blunt of covid is behind us.

I booked the Summer Day tour with the Tundra Buggy in Churchill. Unfortunately, my train to Churchill was canceled and I had to cancel my whole trip there. I thought that regarding this situation of force majeure, they would be nice enough to refund my activity, that I only booked three days before. The lady on the phone did not want to hear anything and was almost rude to me and said no reason is good enough for a refund. I will definitely book another trip to Churchill in the future but be sure I’ll never use Frontiers North’s services any longer. Beware of them, they’re expensive and very unprofessional.

In summer, spotting polar bears will always be a bit more hard than in autumn. However, guide/driver Neal was excellent, very informative and with a huge sense of humour. We spotted 11 polar bears on 1 day, including mothers with cub's, and different bird species. It was amazingly beautiful, an excellent day.

Our tour guide, Jimmy, was an amazing host! He spent the entire day with us, providing incredible stories for a wonderful experience. He showed us fox holes, many arctic birds, (even two golden eagles) and the beautiful tundra area around Churchill and the Hudson Bay. Not only that, we had a female polar bear decide to follow us for 4 hours! She was such a sweet, lovely bear, keeping her distance most of the time, but occasionally coming to see what we were up to, and Jimmy knew exactly how to keep us from spooking her away. He stayed ahead of her most of the time and respected her space, letting her decide how the day would proceed. At no time did we feel we were invading her territory. We then had the incredible luck of seeing a second bear in a lake, just chilling out! Our beautiful female came to the lake too, and the two bears could smell each other, but ignored one another. The company has very strict rules about how they interact with nature and will allow no one to upset the natural ecosystem around Churchill. Its wonderful to see. We felt very secure in our "cage". A very tasty lunch, snacks and drinks were provided and we had room to roam around in the buggy, which is equipped with a toilet. You don't get off the buggy to ruin the animal's territory. This was the same company that we went kayaking with to see the belugas. That was also a spectacular experience, once in a lifetime. Something we will never forget. I would highly recommend both trips. The kayaking was easier and safer than I thought it would be - we felt very safe with professionals ready to help us in their zodiaks very close by. The belugas were so friendly and playful. Highly recommended.
