  For anyone considering doing the EBC trek (or any trek in Nepal), please read my review carefully! I absolutely cannot say enough about Kamar and his team. I planned the 12 day EBC tour for my husband’s 50th birthday and we have previously climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro as well as other difficult hikes in South Africa, Costa Rica and China. We are in excellent physical condition and prepared for months training for our adventure. From the moment I chose this company, the service and attention were top notch- questions were answered promptly and everything that Kamar could have done, he went out of his way to do. We arrived in Kathmandu to a warm welcome and marigold necklaces and the next morning we flew to Lukla with our guide and “Superman” porter. Everything was going great (lots of hard work, but going very well) until day 8. We arrived in Lobuche and my husband suddenly became very ill with altitude sickness and his oxygen dropped extremely low. Our guide swiftly coordinated with Kamar and Santoosh to arrange for emergency helicopter evacuation to get us and bring us immediately to a hospital in Kathmandu. Thankfully, my husband recovered quickly and while we were really disappointed to not have reached base camp (we were only about 6 hours and 300 meters away), health and safety were obviously the priority. While my husband was in the hospital, Kamar and team didn’t leave our side. He went with us to and from the hotel to hospital, checked on us and brought us to the airport 2 days later. We will be back as we have unfinished business with the beautiful Himalayas. I share this review not only for the great service and the wonderful experience we had the first 7 days, but to highlight that you REALLY want a company that can pull together should there be an emergency! I wouldn’t use anyone else and highly recommend this company for any trek you do in Nepal.

  I had a wonderful experience for the Manaslu Circuit in November 2025 with perfect weather conditions. Our guide Gakuhl had everything organized and knew the trek and teahouses very well. He was much fun to spend time with but also left enough space for us to enjoy the trek as a couple. When we wanted to adjust the itinerary on the way, he was very flexible about this and made the changes possible. The overall communication with and organization by Discover Altitude Treks went very smooth and we can also highly recommend the Kathmandu Tour to the different religious sites. Thank You very much!

  Amazing trip around Manaslu even though the weather stopped us from going over the pass. But Teju our guide, and Suresh, our porter, made sure we were safe at all times. It was an incredible experience with lovely people, a great tour organisation in a miraculous mountain valley

  

• Amazing 10-day Manaslu Circuit Trek!

  Myself and my partner recently completed the Manaslu Circuit with Discover Altitude over the course of 10 days. The trek itself was breathtaking, with amazing scenery and clear blue skies. The whole experience was seamless and the team were on hand to answer all of our questions leading up to the trip. They provided us with kit lists and a detailed itinerary. On arrival in Kathmandu they met us in our hotel to provide us with a pre trip briefing, organise our trek permits and provide us with some trekking gear. This was highly convenient for us and shows how much they prioritise the guest experience. Logistically, the trek itself was seamless form start to finish, our guide travelled with us from Kathmandu and arranged our onward travel to Pokhara at the end of the trip. The team arranged for our bags to be sent to Pokhara ahead of us with our ‘non-trekking’ clothes, which was very convenient and saved us any logistical headaches! Our guide, Mahendra and porter Santosh went above and beyond from start to finish on our trek. During the trip we felt like a team and fostered a great atmosphere, high-fiving at the end of each day! Throughout the trek, Mahendra pointed out the different towns and Himalayas (mountains). Both he and Santosh ensured we were comfortable and we took regular breaks to enjoy the scenery and have a drink. We all maintained a positive attitude which really added to the experience! Mahendra worked very hard to ensure we got the best tea houses available and arranged a Jeep from the end of the trek to the town where our onward travel began, bypassing the other trekkers awaiting the limited amount of vehicles. He went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and catered for. We would highly recommend Discover Altitude and would definitely travel with them again in the future!

  

  

  

  

• Manaslu circuit with Gakul

  We had a great time on the Manaslu circuit trek with our guide Gakul. My fiancée and I did the Manaslu circuit in 11 days, including transport days. We are experienced trekkers from Norway, but both the region and the altitude was new to us. Throughout the journey, Gakul made sure we always knew the plan for the upcoming day, and could answer questions we had about our route. We kept a good pace, determined by us, and Gakul was both clear in communications and patient whenever we needed a bit of extra time (for example morning logistics). In the highest parts of the trek, we had to work a bit with the altitude, and Gakul was proactive in both checking up on how we were doing, and reminding us to take our altitude tablets. He made us feel safe and comfortable whenever we needed to take it a bit slower, or drink some extra because of the altitude. He also paid attentions to our needs, and anticipated what was important to us at our different accommodations through the mountains. On the social side, we really enjoyed trekking with Gakul, both discussing current events, local culture and having some good card games in the evenings, I would wholeheartedly recommend both the trek and Gakul as a guide.

  Great trek to the Manaslu circuit with our guide Gakul. Beautiful scenery and nice trails. We also did a day hike to Pungyuen Gumba which was very nice! Can recommend both the trek, the company and Gakul as the guide 😊

  I had a memorable experience with Dinesh, Go Cool and Umesh for my trekking to the Everest Base Camp. They cared about me during the entire trekking, creating a great group atmosphere, helping me every day, supporting me during challenging moments, sharing the Nepali culture. I am very grateful for having all you at my side. I strongly recommend them for future trekking. I hope to come back Nepal and have you at my side. Thanks a lot for all guys.

  From the get go the discover altitude team helped me immensely. Making sure I had everything I’d need to complete the circuit. My guide bhakta was the most incredible guide you could ever ask for, from helping me learn my Nepalese to providing me with countless pieces of information about the Manaslu range.
