The National Wallace Monument was built to honour our great Scottish hero - William Wallace.
Glencoe National Nature Reserve
Glen Coe is perhaps the most famous of all Scotland’s glens. This narrow valley is where the bloody massacre of the MacDonalds took place in 1692 and has been used as a backdrop for many movies including Skyfall. We will stop nearby for lunch (at own expense).
Glenfinnan Viaduct
Visit the Glenfinnan Viaduct (Apr-Oct only) which famously features in several Harry Potter movies as the Hogwarts Express train crosses the bridge.
Ben Nevis
We stop for a photo of Britain’s highest mountain (Ben Nevis).
Fort Augustus
There will be an opportunity for photos and souvenir shopping in the charming village of Fort Augustus.
Loch Ness
We continue along the full length of Loch Ness - keep your eyes peeled for a glimpse of the Loch Ness Monster!
Urquhart Castle
We will stop at Urquhart Castle for a photo opportunity and to stretch legs before the final leg of the journey to Inverness.
Inverness
Our overnight stay is in the northernmost city of the UK and pretty capital of the Highlands, Inverness. There are numerous pubs, cafés and restaurants for evening entertainment.
Culloden Battlefield
After being collected from your accommodation it's only a short drive to Culloden Moor where the Jacobites were finally defeated by government soldiers in 1746, the last battle to be fought on British soil. You will have time to walk on the battlefield and learn more about this tragic event that killed 700 Highland clansmen in three minutes.
Clava Cairns
Visit one of Scotland's most evocative and sacred prehistoric sites, 4000 year old stone circles and burial mounds at Clava Cairns.
Cairngorms National Park
As we drive south through the Cairngorms National Park you'll hear about the flora and fauna of this wonderful wilderness which was officially protected in 2003 and is the largest national park in the British Isles. We will also stop for lunch at one of the charming villages within the national park.

During your drive through the Cairngorms National Park, you should spot Ruthven Barracks, built in 1719 after the 1715 Jacobite rising.
Pitlochry
The Highland town of Pitlochry has an elegant main street packed with shops and restaurants.
The Hermitage
Your final stop is a gentle riverside walk through Big Tree Country at Dunkeld, a beautiful way to finish the tour all seasons of the year.

My third time in Edinburgh so wanted to see more of Scotland, as a solo traveller it can sometimes be scary travelling alone but, Roddy the guide was amazing, not only having a vast knowledge of the history of Scotland, he was so caring and kind giving all of us 100% attention and checked to make sure I was included & not left out. Best scenery and hidden gems ever. Thank you Roddy for giving me some happy memories

My sister and I don’t usually do guided tours when we travel, but spending two days on Heart of Scotland's “Inverness and the Highlands” tour completely changed our minds. It ended up being one of the absolute highlights of our trip to Scotland. Roddy is an incredible guide. He's knowledgeable, warm, and funny, with a real gift for storytelling. We learned so much about the landscape, history, myths, and local culture of Scotland and the Highlands. During the longer stretches of driving he'd also put on great music, everything from traditional Scottish folk to more modern regional artists. The route and drive itself was stunning. Misty, magical, with sweeping vistas around every bend. Highlights for us were Glencoe, The Hermitage near Pitlochry, and feeding the Highland Coos. The days were long but the pace was great for us. I can't believe how much Roddy was able to pack into the 2 Days without it feeling rushed. I think there were 10 of us on the Wee Red Bus and it was very comfortable. There were plenty of stops for photos, breaks, and to appreciate the stunning scenery. Thank you Heart of Scotland, and especially Roddy, for making our trip to the Highlands so special and memorable! We were so happy and wholeheartedly recommend the Wee Red Bus and Heart of Scotland.

I feel like I got the most out of my trip to Scotland thanks to Heart of Scotland. We were in Scotland for 8 days and did two of their tours. One was the overnight to Inverness, the other Hadrians Wall and the borders. Our tour guide Angela was friendly, funny, informative and accommodating. Not expensive and worth every penny for the experiences we had!

We just completed the 2 day Highlands tour. Our tour guide was Roddy and he was absolutely wonderful. Kind, compassionate, caring, funny, great storyteller. We went to so many wonderful places, he was so knowledgeable about all the places we stopped at, and he made sure we all had time to see, explore and participate. At the start of the tour, we were running a few minutes behind getting it if it hotel and getting a taxi and he was kind enough to wait on us to get there. We had a small group - 10 of us - which I loved the small more personable feel and was a small 16 seater van. Highly recommend, will use them again in the future and will request Roddy of he's available. Thank you so much for making the tour what it was. ❤️

Nick who was very helpful and the amazing stories from Callum whose luv of the highlands is infectious. I know there are other tours but a private tour with this company is the best way to see Scotland.
