We offer beautiful 2-hour horseback rides. We operate our horseback rides in one of the most picturesque places in the west. Our friendly and well-trained horses will take you on trail through the washes of the water pocket fold of Capitol Reef National Park. We provide water and trail snacks for you while on our ride. Our horse wranglers are local to the area and are all season veterans in western horseback riding. All of our trips are fully guided. Each person will ride their own horse. We do not allow doubles. You must be 8 years old to participate. Our wranglers are experts on local history and well versed in the flora and fauna of our area. Come join us for a wonderful trail ride. We are family owned and operated business.

Welcome to Wilderness Ridge Adventures. We are have the best 1-hour and 2-hour horse rides in the west. No experience necessary. We will have our trusty horses saddled up for you when you arrive. We will begin our right from our corrals and will Journey towards the Red Bluff. Note worthy views along the ride will be the Windgate Tunnel and the Petrified Forest. Our ride is a loop so we don't see the same views twice. The trail takes us through the western water pocket fold of Capitol Reef National Park. The natural scenery and views of Capitol Reef National Park will evoke the feeling of riding in the saddle with John Wayne himself. Come join us and experience a part of the west that few get to see.

5.00My horse, curly, was easy to ride and did what I asked. I never felt scared or out of control. My guide grew up over the mountain on a ranch. She was able to share information about the area and gave us tips on how to safely ride.

5.00My guide, Peter, was helpful, professional and knowledgeable. I had a great time and glad I did this ride. I have riding experience and have owned horses, however, I am in my early 70’s and have not been around horses for almost 15 years so this was a ride of a lifetime. The trail will surprise you while you experience riding down and up manageable creek bed. My horse was calm and reliable. It was so much fun and I was so happy to be back in the saddle again. You will enjoy the views and have a great experience riding a horse.

5.00Danielle and Ellie were great guides! Danielle lead and she knew a lot of the flora and fauna of the area, as well as the history. She was kind and knowledgeable. You could tell they love what they do and we appreciate that!

5.00Wilderness Ridge Adventures horseback trail riding was such an excellent experience. Made you feel like a cowboy wandering the old west amongst the back drop of the towering red rock mesas near Capital Reef NP. The staff and the horses were all excellent! Tara was an excellent guide and gave so much insight and history to the area. She was a good instructor/teacher on horseback riding (we both had experience but hadnt ridden since childhood). Our horses were so gentle and easy to ride. Would highly recommend this adventure to anyone!

5.00Decided very last minute to do this tour after seeing it advertised in our hotel lobby. Online registration and waiver were easy to complete online. Mike and Tara got us situated on our horses, Pace and Curly. I have no experience with horse riding and Mike provided solid instruction and some coaching along the way to make our experience fun and safe. The horses we rode were amazing and knew what to do despite our inexperience. Beautiful way to see some of the area up close with narration and Q and A.
