The Fira–Oia hike is one of the best ways to discover Santorini, taking you along the stunning caldera cliffs and through the charming villages of Fira, Firostefani, Imerovigli, and Oia. You will walk the same paths once used by merchants, farmers, and sailors, learning about the island’s history and culture along the way.
Fira
Fira is the beautiful capital of the island and the biggest and most cosmopolitan settlement of Santorini. It is located in the western edge of the island, opposite the volcano and the two volcanic islands, Palaia Kammeni and Nea Kammeni that lie in the sea. Fira is a combination of natural beauty, social life, night life, and shopping, where you can feel the liveliness of the island and where all the action takes place. What makes it so ravishing is the Caldera view that leaves visitors speechless anytime of the day. A walk to the scenic alleys during the daytime will fill you with harmony. There is a wealth of restaurants, cafes, bars and clubs where you can relax and enjoy the tremendous view or dance and have fun. 5.00Panos met us at our hotel with water and snacks and immediately made us feel welcome. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the history and was a fabulous guide throughout the day. He quickly understood our pace and tailored the experience accordingly. It was a wonderful day, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with him.

5.00My three adult daughters and I really enjoyed this hike, Panos was great, very knowledgeable and chill. Parts of the hike were challenging but he was very encouraging. It is a great way to see the island and hear more of the history. Stunning views throughout, I really recommend this hike and Panos was the perfect guide!

5.00Great personalized walk with a passionate guide who loves Santorini. Fantastic views and great to have our pictures taken together! At one point I was struggling with the climb and the guide miraculously got out hiking poles from his backpack. Must do experience

5.00Spectacular hike along the caldera with guide Panos, who knows every pebble on the path. Although you can do this hike yourself, the advantage of going with a friendly guide like Panos is that he explains the geological formations that you see, as well as the way Santorini has evolved in modern times - how the island gets fresh water, why solar panels used in some places, but not others, and really any question that you have. When you finish, you’ll feel like you’ve connected with the island. Panos is also very responsive, and can adjust the timing of your tour if necessary. He also provides a free transfer back to Fira and great lunch recommendations. Overall, a super experience!

5.00Panos was amazing! He was very passionate and knowledgeable about the towns and natural features that we encountered throughout our hike. We were a bit hesitant to book this because we aren’t hiking people, but it was so worth it! You get to see the island from so many different angles and it is so beautiful.

5.00This hike was the highlight of my vacation in Santorini!! Panos answered all questions in advance and was very kind. Part of the group only went halfway, and he arranged a transfer for them. While hiking, Panos shared local knowledge and expertise while also answering questions and having great conversation. Perfect pace! Would HIGHLY recommend.
