Food and Bucharest insight worth investigating

5.00We did this tour 8 years ago and remember it being excellent, we were delighted to find Laura was still running these and it was just as interesting and enjoyable as the we'd remembered. As you'd expect the food and structure of the tour was different from our previous visit, this time the main food courses come first and you follow that with visits to a locals market and a bon bon store, whilst walking through snickleways and lanes you wouldn't know to follow, with Laura's excellent observations and knowledge thrown in.

5.00We had a brilliant day with Mihaela as our guide. She was warm, friendly and knowledgeable about Bucharest and the local food. We really enjoyed our day. One bit of advise for anyone taking this trip - don’t eat a big breakfast before you go, the food is plentiful!

5.00We loved the food tour. Tour guide Laura was a gold mine of information. The presentations of the various foods by various outlets were great even though Romanian food as such ends up not really being our top quisine. But that is why you go on these tours to find out what you like or not. Tastes differ.

5.00Laura has scouted delicious food in beautiful locations with friendly staff. She was knowledgeable about the history of the country and its food and shared many interesting stories and personal details that made the afternoon our most enjoyable in the city! We loved the whole experience. Monica was a guide in training that accompanied our group. She was warm and also very helpful in explaining Romanian culture and food.

5.00We had Laura as our guide, and she was excellent. Laura was a wealth of information on not only food, but also culture, history, customs, and so on. Just what we wanted, more of an immersion on local culture and history. Laura took us to neighborhood restaurants and a local market. As with other tours, a ton of food! It was a 12:30-4:00 tour, and we had a very light dinner, as the tour was essentially a lunch and a dinner. Laura shared some of her personal family story (parents, grandparents, in the communist era), which gave us great insight into these more recent generations. And of course the food variety and quality were both excellent, and her explanations on the food background was very interesting. We have been on a dozen food tours internationally (we're from the US), and this was one of the very best, 5-stars.

5.00Our tour guide was interesting and funny. She showed us lots of different things about Bucharest, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I can highly recommend the foodie tour. Our guides name is Laura Genescu. She will take you around and you’ll love the venues she takes you too, and the food you will be served. Thank Laura!!!!!!
