We are the highest rated kayak tour company, as well as the most affordable tour company, in Door County. We are local, born and raised in sunny Jacksonport, and we hire responsible, professional guides, and take care of you from the moment you walk in the shop til the time you get back in your car. We do not abandon you on the Lake, we train our guides to not only provide you with a safe, reliable, fun trip, but also knowledgable about the local ecology of the area.

Cave Point County Park

Join us for a beautiful kayak trip along Door County’s pristine Lake Michigan coastline. The trip will take you along Cave Point County Park, and Whitefish Dunes State Park. With the unique vantage point of your kayak, you’ll be able to experience the beauty of the dolostone caves and and observe the beautiful karst landscape on crystal clear Lake Michigan. These dolostone rock formations are what is known as the Niagara Escarpment, and Door County's band of rock goes from Wisconsin around the north end of Lake Michigan and Huron all the way to Niagara Falls. We venture into a couple of the accessible caves, and spend some time relaxing with our feet in the water, enjoying the natural beauty and soaking up the sun before kayaking back to the launch point at Schauer Park.

Dress appropriately. The weather was decent for us. I was comfortable with shorts and a windbreaker for our 70 degree day. Have fun.

This was an excellent experience for some older ladies who were not quite sure if they were going to do well on a kayak. We did great and Gordon took excellent care of us. Would highly recommend no matter the level of kayaking experience. The shore line was beautiful. The water was perfect temp. And views of the cave from the water was really nice.

We had a fantastic time! Dane, our guide, was super friendly and knew so much about the geology of the lakeshore. That made it so much more than just a kayak outing. I'd highly recommend this tour.

Cave Point County Park kayaking experience was fabulous. The guide was very professional and knowledgeable. The kayak company was very helpful as our initial trip was cancelled due to inclement weather. The company worked diligently to reschedule us for a time that worked during our trip. Excellent service. I particularly enjoyed kayaking into the two small cave entrances. Wonderful experience.

We enjoyed learning to kayak on the beautiful lake. It was relaxed and fun. Our tour guide was friendly and confident and we felt secure while trying something new.

It was a great trip. We were able to take some rests along the way and it was the perfect amount of time. Going to cave point and into one of the caves was really neat!

Gordon was an excellent guide! He was funny, knowledgeable and so very patient with the group. He even gave recommendations for food and other activities in the area. Highly recommend this activity and Gordon. Gave 4 stars only because they gave us a tandem kayak. I assumed that paying $79 for each person meant we were getting our own kayak which would have been our preference. There was no option to choose online.
