• Our favorite tour in Iceland!

  One of the absolute highlights of our Iceland adventure was our private canyoning tour with Ice Guardians! The views were unbelievable, the adventure was so much fun, and our guides, Kish and Richard, were amazing. They were patient, encouraging, and made us feel safe the entire time. We actually chose one of our Airbnb locations specifically so we could fit this tour into our itinerary since it’s on the eastern side of Iceland, and I am so glad we did. It was absolutely worth it. If you’re planning a trip to Iceland and want an unforgettable adventure, I can’t recommend Ice Guardians enough. They offer other tours as well. This was one of our favorite experiences of the entire trip, and it’s a memory we’ll always cherish.

  This was, without question, the highlight of our entire Iceland vacation! The directions to the meeting location were clear and easy to follow. Parking was simple, and there were bathrooms available on site, which made the morning stress free from the start. Our guides arrived with absolutely everything we needed. The wetsuits and gear were high quality, fit perfectly, and kept us surprisingly warm throughout the entire adventure. I honestly expected to be freezing, but at no point was I uncomfortably cold. From the moment we arrived, both guides greeted our family with warm smiles and immediately made us feel welcome and comfortable. Our group was small, just our family, two other guests, and two guides, which made the experience feel very personal. They shared interesting history about the area, patiently taught everyone how to rappel, and made sure we felt safe and confident before every activity. The adventure itself was incredible! We rappelled down waterfalls, jumped into crystal clear streams, slid down natural rock slides, climbed through the canyon, and even finished with a zip line. The photos on their website simply do not do this experience justice. It is far more exciting, adventurous, and beautiful than it appears online. At the end, they offered food for purchase along with complimentary hot coffee and hot chocolate, which was the perfect way to warm up and finish the morning. Everything was organized, professional, and ran flawlessly from beginning to end. We would recommend this experience to anyone visiting Iceland. It exceeded every expectation we had!

  The canyoning trip with Ice Guardians was amazing! We were a little worried about being too cold, but were pleasantly surprised with how warm we were with the 6mm tight fitting wetsuits with enclosed socks, neoprene boots & gloves and waterproof jackets. They have the right gear for the job. Safety is also a top priority for Kish & Rich, the company owners and guides for our trip. They worked as a team to safely guide the expedition. As geologists they also shared expert knowledge of the area. Highly recommend this trip for adventurous types of all ages who are looking for a hiking/canyoning experience in Iceland (the only tour of this type anywhere on the island)!

  We had the best time with Rich and Kish on our canyoning tour! They first taught us how to safely rappel and use our gear before heading out to the beautiful, hidden canyon to splash around and have fun for the day. Everything was thought through to the last detail and we felt safe but adventurous on the tour, thanks to the professionalism of our guides. Even at the end of the season, we did not get too cold thanks to the gear that we were provided! 11/10, I would recommend Ice Guardians for all adventurous spirits who want a small-group adventure with the most knowleadgable guides in the country!

  We had the absolute pleasure of taking two tours with Ice Guardians in Iceland—ice climbing and canyoning—and both experiences were nothing short of spectacular! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 From the moment we met our guides, we knew we were in the hands of true professionals. On the glacier, our guide Rich stood out immediately—not only for his skill and confidence but also because everyone else on the ice seemed to know and respect him. We later learned he had trained many of the other guides out there! That level of expertise gave us complete peace of mind as we tackled thrilling activities like rappelling, climbing, and lowering ourselves into deep blue crevasses. It was pure adventure from start to finish, and every moment felt safe, exciting, and unforgettable. Our canyoning trip was equally amazing. The day was a perfect mix of adrenaline and Icelandic beauty—from rappelling down cliffs and jumping into crystal-clear pools to sliding under waterfalls and even picking fresh blueberries along the way. It was the kind of experience that fills your camera roll AND your soul. Ice Guardians delivers top-tier service, unmatched expertise, and a genuine passion for adventure. They made us feel like friends, not just customers, and their knowledge of the area and the activities was second to none. • Ice Guardians for the win!

  Kish and Rich exceeded our expectations for canyoning! We had the best time…rapelling into canyons, jumping off cliffs, sliding down waterfalls and zip lining! We really appreciated them sharing their knowledge of the geology and flora in the region. We truly had the time of our lives! Great guys, a lot of fun, very professional! I only wish we had gone ice climbing with them as well!

  Epic canyoning adventure with Ice Guardians and one of the top 3 highlights of our Iceland trip. Rich helped us book the experience weeks in advance and made sure it fit our tight schedule. On the day of, Rich and Kish were incredible guides, professional, funny, and supportive. We met at Haukafell Campground, suited up, and hiked in along a sheep trail with wild berries and arctic thyme. Most of us had no rappelling experience, but the practice session made us all feel comfortable. The canyon descent was unforgettable with rappels, slides, cliff jumps, and the “washing machine” finale down a roaring waterfall. It was thrilling but felt safe the entire time.   My son and I recently did this, never had done canyoning prior. A truly amazing way to spend time immersed in the beautiful landscape. Kish and Rich are top-notch guides. They have a wealth of experience and knowledge, made us feel comfortable and safe. We had so much fun and left with huge smiles on our faces. Absolutely unforgettable experience... Highly recommend this excursion!!
