Maine sunsets are best appreciated from the water aboard the romantic Appledore II! This tall ship is limited to 49 passengers for an intimate sailing experience. She is a modern windjammer with luxurious accommodations and plenty of seating. The wide decks allow you to walk around with ease and take in all of the gorgeous sunset views.

Your sunset sailing cruise departs from Bayview Landing, at the heart of Camden Harbor. Mariners consider Camden Harbor one of the most beautiful harbors in New England, framed by the mountains greeting the sea. Feel the sense of adventure as the crew hoists the sails. Participate in this age-old tradition by joining in and help raise the sails. Take a turn at the wheel and feel the exhilaration of captaining a traditional wooden ship.

Schooner Appledore II Windjammer Cruise

The Appledore II was hand-built in 1978 at the Gamage Shipyard in Maine in the finest shipbuilding tradition. She proved her seaworthiness by circumnavigating the globe. She continues to sail a 2,000 mile ocean voyage twice a year between her summer home of Camden, Maine and winter home of tropical Key West, Florida.

Pablo and his crew were great. From beginning to end, we thoroughly enjoyed it. Each crew member personally walked around and interacted with the guests. Pablo was also very informative and have great information. Highly recommend.

This was a more last-minute excursion. And so glad we did and worth the money. I had two kids and a baby and we all really enjoyed the sail. The kids were able to drive the boat and help put up the sails. It was a very fun experience and would do it again. Plenty of time to enjoy the scenery and water. Great place for sunset pictures. The staff was very friendly and answered many of our questions.
Great crew and great experience. We loved every minute.

This was a great experience and lots of fun. Be sure to bring a jacket or hoodie because it gets really cold.

Excellent crew, amazing views and peaceful sunset sail. Such a lovey outing on a lovely wooden sail boat with a rich history. The staff gave an interesting history of the area and the boat.

This is our second excursion with the Appledore II and its fine and engaging crew. The registration process is very smooth, the crew and supporting team highly engaging and friendly, and the vessel and its amenities top quality! It's hard to go wrong on a cruise out of Camden, a picturesque post-card town with an intrinsic beauty, and the waters with expansive views of the shoreline, backing hills, and amalgam of islands are beautiful! We are repeat customers and will stay that way! Highly recommended!!

Great crew with Captain Pablo, it was unexpectedly foggy when we got out there but they kept us entertained and it was fun!

Very nice cruise in the bay. Staff was attentive. The boat was very nice. One lighthouse viewing. Eat before if taking the sunset cruise as all the restaurants were closed when we got off

The team are very experienced but the weather was too blustery for me to be an enjoyable experience. I think that they should have cancelled.
