This is an Assisi tour with your private guide. Discover the famous monuments of Assisi on a private walking tour, and stroll down alleys to the typical squares of the Old Town. See Roman ruins, old stone houses, and magnificent frescoes.
Due to the exposition of the remains of St. Francis, guided tours of the basilica will be suspended from February 15, 2026, to April 6, 2026.
The guide will provide an explanation from outside, and then visitors will be able to enter on their own.

A dress code is required to enter places of worship and selected museums. No shorts or sleeveless tops allowed. Knees and shoulders MUST be covered for both men and women. You may risk refused entry if you fail to comply with these dress requirements
On Sundays, major Catholic holidays, national holidays, and on October 3rd and 4th, guided tours inside the Basilica of St. Francis are not permitted. On these dates, your guide will provide an explanation from outside the church, after which you will enter independently and in silence.
On October 4th, the Basilica of St. Francis is closed to visitors.

The Basilica of Saint Clare is a church dedicated to and contains the remains of Saint Clare of Assisi, a follower of Saint Francis of Assisi and founder of the Order of Poor Ladies, known today as the Order of Saint Clare.
Chiesa Nuova
Erected in 1615 on the remains of a building believed to be the home of St. Francis. The building’s architecture design is from the Renaissance period. The façade, built of brick, is divided by four pillars supporting a Doric entablature, with attic gable, above which rises a hemispherical dome.

5.00Our guide was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed spending the time with her. It was, as advertised, a small group - just our family - which allowed for a lot of interaction. Lots of people, especially at the basilica, but an enjoyable experience.

5.00Michele was a wonderful guide full of knowledge of Assisi and the surrounding Umbrian region. He customised the tour to our preferences given it was just my family of 4 attending. He provided the life and history of St. Francis and other figures important to the area. We highly recommend the tour and Michele specifically as he is really a great guide and lovely man.
