Taking off from the Alaska Glacier Lodge in the Mat-Su Valley to the Knik Glacier (5 miles wide by 29 miles long!). We land right in the middle of the Knik Glacier, where you can get out of the helicopter and spend about 30 minutes on ice thousands of years old with your pilot/guide. We provide ice spikes for you to safely hike on the ice Take pictures of the blue lakes on top of the glacier, crevasses and ice ‘sculptures’ made by wind, sunshine & time. (Summer)
**WINTER TOURS (Oct-April) please note that this tour in some winter months may not land directly on top of the glacier due to snow cover and safety issues, landing may be on the side next to incredible deep blue ice formations**
Total tour time 1 hour includes 30 mins for round trip flightseeing
CHECK IN 45 mins PRIOR TO DEPARTURE IS REQUIRED - please check departure address to plan accordingly. Late check in can result in a shortened or cancelled tour with no refund

NOT PERMITTED: DRONES-SMOKING ITEMS (VAPES/LIGHTERS/E-CIG)-FIREARMS-BAGS/BACKPACKS/LOOSE STRAPS - please leave all bags in the vehicle or we do have lockers to store them
WINTER TOURS - October - April -we are unable to land on top of the glacier due to snow cover. We will land next to the glaciers near the massive ice formations
Guests 300lbs or over require our Astar Helicopter to fly. This is not available for every time/day.Please call direct to assure we have that helicopter available to accommodate prior to booking.
Alaska Helicopter Tours has Robinson 44s and ASTAR helicopters. We never guarantee the type of helicopter you will be flying in unless a private helicopter option is purchased. Parties with multiple separate bookings, or parties over 2 passengers may be in 2 helicopters, but will always be together for the tour.

5.00Wow!!! This was by far one of the coolest experiences we had on our trip. We are so glad we did it with this tour company. The staff and pilots were so knowledgeable and big on safety. Our Pilot,Stephen, gave us the best tour of the glaciers, as well as took us to the dog sled camp. He was so knowledgeable and at ease, it made us super comfortable. We were able to see moose mountain goats, and bears from helicopter. We landed on a glacier, got to walk and take pictures with the glacier pools. Worth the $$. Thank you again to everyone, especially Stephen!!!! He was such an amazing Pilot and guide!

5.00This was a wonderful experience. The pilot was very knowledgeable and friendly. The staff that assisted with my booking went the extra mile to try to get me in for a last minute solo booking and pickup arrangement. The driver was also very patient and pointed out notable locations on the way to the lodge. Overall, I enjoyed the experience. Seeing the glacier up close is a lifetime wondrrt.

5.00Everyone was very kind. Our pilot, Alec, was fantastic! He answered all our questions and was our personal photographer. The glaciers were beautiful. I would definitely recommend it.

5.00Had a great time, would definitely do this. Sam was amazing, friendly, knowledgeable and a great tour guide. Walking on a glacier is a pretty unique experience, one of my favorite things on my trip.

5.0010 out of 10. The pilots were friendly, knowledgeable even pointing out different wildlife and shared history about the glacier and different weather events and what they caused. However, If you qualify for a military discount DO NOT BOOK WITH A THIRD PARTY, the Alaska helicopter tour company will honor the discount but cannot if you’ve booked w a third party.

5.00Me and my husband absolutely loved this experience! It has been the highlight of our trip to Alaska. The views from the helicopter were incredible and it was even more beautiful up close while we were walking around the glacier. Big shout out to our tour guide and helicopter pilot Cory! He was amazing. Very welcoming, knowledgeable and entertaining. I would highly recommend this trip and company to anyone heading to the Anchorage area.

5.00The highlight of our Alaska trip, without a doubt! We thought we wouldn’t be able to go due to weather, but Alaska Helicopter Tours called us and let us know they could still safely take us out and I’m SO glad they did. Landing on a glacier, walking across it, drinking glacier water, you can't beat it! The entire team was professional and we felt very safe and comfortable. Truly one of the coolest bucket list experiences I’ve ever done and well worth it. I can’t recommend Alaska Helicopter Tours enough!
This tour is a MUST! For us it was our Elopement :)

5.00What an amazing experience!! My husband and I got eloped on Knik Glacier via AK Helicopter Tours and it was an experience of a lifetime! We had 4 people total in our group and so had 2 helicopters and 2 pilots. Ben and Vincent were our pilots and were fantastic. If you can request pilots, request them! They were knowledgeable about the area, were helpful during our ceremony and helped eased my anxiety around flying. They helped make the experience fun and memorable! The staff at the lodge were also very kind, professional and patient with my many questions and concerns leading up to my reservation. I would highly recommend choosing AK Helicopter Tours for your next unforgettable Alaska adventure!
