Enjoy this unique private tour with a local guide, who will be able to tell you the historical facts about the archaeological sites of Alghero: the nuraghe Palmavera, dating back to 1500 BCE, and the necropolis of Anghelu Ruju, with its 6000 years of "life".

Kevin, your professional local guide, is bilingual in Italian and English and he has always lived in Alghero, so that he will be able to answer your questions and also give you some useful information about the town, such as where to eat or what to do in Alghero and in the island.
*If you wish not to visit both archaeological sites, Kevin will be happy to lead you to the old town for a short visit of the Catalan-style city fortress, without any extra charge. Just let Kevin know when meeting him.

Villaggio Nuragico Palmavera
Archaeological site dating back to the Bronze Age (15th century BCE). A village made of 50 huts and the main building, with 2 towers made of limestone and sandstone. You can get inside the tower and walk inside the village.
Necropolis of Anghelu Ruju
Cemetery of the Stone Age, dating back to 4200 BCE. A complex of 38 underground chamber-tombs, with a very unique menhir in the middle of the field.

5.00Kevin was a very good tour guide, very knowledgeable, friendly, open to questions. He translated the information signs at this site so it feels like you’re getting an insider tour. He was able to answer all our questions and I thought this tour was really interesting. He was also mindful of the weather and had us do the no shade necropolis tour earlier in the day so we wouldn’t be out in the scorching heat. He seems to really love his job and his hometown.

Educational trip, luxury to be picked up at the hotel!

5.00It was incredibly nice to be picked up at the hotel and driven by car directly to the places we were going to visit. Kevin was good at explaining us about the two locations, and answered our questions. He also offered to take pictures of us so we got pictures from the holiday with the whole family. We had two kids at 8 and 10. The eight-year-old does not know much English yet, and seemed a bit boring to listen to the explanations. But both children found it fun to explore the tombs and nuraghen. There was also a break where you could use the toilet and buy ice cream, which the kids appreciated as it was quite hot. All in all, it was a very nice experience and it was exciting to learn something new!

5.00Just finished this tour with Kevin! Such a great experience. Alghero's archaeological sites are wonderful. We first saw the necropolis, dating back ti 4000 BC... Then we headed ti the Nuraghe Palmavera, a village from the Bronze Age... This was our best site. Kevin was knowleadgable and told us much info and it was a fun experience too!

5.00Kevin, our guide, showed himself not only to be very knowledgeable et very well organized but also an extremely agreeable person to deal with and to talk to. We learned a lot from him about the prehistoric culture which was the theme of the tour we had booked, but also Sardinia in general as we asked him about various topics that we had noticed since our arrival on the island. All told, we spent a perfect moment with him for which are still thankful.

5.00One of the best archaeological guides that we’ve had and certainly the best in Alghero! Kevin explained everything in detail and took his time to answer our questions. Without the archaeological tour we would have not comprehended the Nuraghe culture and the Neolithic necropolis as well as we did now. Would definitely recommend!
