The tour was amazing and the quality of the foods offered on the tour were top notch! Starting with an authentic foccacia, Bari style, the walk along the seafront, the panzerotto, the octopus sandwich, all the way to the desert - Apulia and Bari in particular, really has a lot to offer on the food front! Our guide was patient in explaining why the particular dish is so important to the local community, he took us to some very local spots (we were among the locals shopping for their daily provisions in some of these places) and we learned some cool facts about the history of Bari as well. This was a great way to set the tone for the rest of the week - we learned what to look for, what was authentic and what not so much, and it really elevated our understanding of the region and the people.
