  A complete waste of time and money - over 3 days we had two journeys because of the poor service provided. We purchased a 48 hr ticket and left from stop one on day one but then got off at stop 16 for the markets. After we walked to stop 14 to continue only to wait and wait and wait. Upon our return to our hotel we approached folk at stop one to complain who advised there was traffic = complete BS, and there where not buses between 10.am and 1.30. Day 2 we waited at stop 14 again - along with 50 others between 9.30 and 10.20 and watched one brown bus drive by empty and no others. Yet their brochure stats that bus run all day from multiple stops = another load of BS. Clearly a sub standard level of management in Budapest = very dissappointing.

  Great way to see the city sights on a short trip to Budapest but there are not enough buses to meet the demand and it's not even high season yet. Not guaranteed that you will be able to get on the bus never mind a seat! If returning to Budapest I would use the public bus and tram services instead.

  We booked hop on hop off through Viator. It was a hugely popular activity and there were not enough buses to accommodate the tickets sold. Hence considerable difficulty using the service, the brochure quoted 10-25 mins frequency. The first bus we tried to board came 45 mins late and was full. This was a pattern over the next 2 days of the booking. At one point in the route the bus was asked to debunk and get on another bus that was already quite full. Not very organised. Staff did their best but very poor activity.

  Great tour, very organized. Detailed history that makes it very interesting. I would recommend it for every age.

  We booked the Citysightseeing red bus in Budapest, a hop-on-hop-off bus. It was very difficult to locate the stops due to a complete lack of signs. An hour wait despite being advertised every 20 minutes. Crowded buses with standing passengers tightly packed. Audio with scarce information. Unpleasant driver. Assistant was unaware of basic information. Bus in poor condition. An oven without air conditioning, which was requested, and the bus did not have it. The service was so bad and unacceptable that we got off at two stops and did not take it again. Choose the places to visit in advance, for example, the Citadel, the opera house, the parliament, etc., on your own. Use a taxi from a recognized company; you will spend less and avoid the multiple bad experiences that this company made us go through. A total discard. A terrible service.

  Don’t spend your money on this in Budapest very bad managed operation with a really rude staff!!!!! I have been on this buses in many places and here not worth it the hassle gives you bad impression of the whole experience. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!!

  I use big bus services in all cities I visit Budapest had certainly let down their reputation 2 routes red and green Bur green has been suspended for a couple on months due to construction work no notification of those prior too trip or indeed during only found out accident I found some of the staff rude an dismissive Had to change bus during tour not due to unforeseen circumstances No explanation given Saving grace the audio remained informative way to find out about the cities history

  All the tourist spot I have on my bucket list was included in all the stops! We were so glad my husband suggested to take 2 days Hop on hop off ticket!!!👍💕

• Unpleasant tour guides

  No one of the best hop on hop off I have used. The salesmen at the ticket sales stands were the best. The guides on the bus were not helpful or good at all. They were not friendly or helpful. They acted like they were not there to give information. We had one they stopped and asked us to get catch the bus behind them because ours was crowded and standing room only. We get off and onto the next bus only to have to stand on it. What was the point! Budapest has been the only place in the world I have used that the tour guides were terrible! But hats off to the young men at the ticket sales stands!

  Looks like the company does not have enough buses. We waited 30 minutes for a bus at stop 5 only for the bus to be full, waited another 25 minutes for a bus, it also arrived full. At this point we were frustrated and tired and were not sure if there will be a seats on the next bus. Viator please remove Budapest Big Bus from your site, in all the years I have used Viator, this is the only negative experience I encountered. Looking at other reviews I was anxious when I booked, now I know I made a mistake.
