The mysterious sand dunes of Gurun Pasir Busung in Bintan. Originally a mining site, Gurun Pasir Busung was abandoned and now it resembles a majestic landscape of the Arabian desert. Although it is located quite far away from the city and resort area, many Instagrammers are willing to take their time just to visit this place. All because of the golden-washed sand dune that contrast beautifully with the blue sky and white fluffy clouds, making it picture-perfect. It’s to soon to be mesmerized, as this place has more to offer.
Right alongside the golden sand dune is a surreal crystal-clear blue lake. It's hard to imagine that this crystal blue lake was once just a large crater in an abandoned mining site, but as time went by, it began to gradually fill with rainwater resulting in a "post-apocalyptic oasis" in the middle of Gurun Pasir Busung desert. Take a picture with both sights in the background and you’ll be flooded with instagram likes.

5.00Yurnalis was our tour guide and he was great! We spent a few hours going to the sand dunes, blue lake, Buddhist temple, fruit market, and seafood restaurant. We got picked up and dropped off to our hotel. We had a lovely day trip!

5.00We had an amazing experience! Our guide customized our 4 hours just for us - he took us directly to Blue Lake, then to the Lagoi Bay beach and then to a massage!

5.00As you reach "Busung" & park your car, you feel sand dunes are just ok looking. But as you reach inside, They feel good with actually gravel & pebbles ( not exactly sand) You start taking pictures. You go further inside, you start forgetting the heat of the sun The moment you reach the "Blue Lake" you are awestruck, mesmerized & what not. You go on taking pictures..... you dont want to leave the place !!! Possible Activities :- Pic with eagle Quad biking Boat (lazy romantic) 20 min trip in the lake Run up & down the dunes Cannot swim in the lake Small chips / snacks & colddrink counters near the parking Toilets available near parking

5.00The guide was really friendly and nice, the sand dunes and blue lake was beautiful. And the seafood lunch at the Kelong was yummy too. Even though there was just 2 of us, theh served us 5 sides, 2 rice ans 2 tea.

5.00Very nice trip, we chartered a car, it was Mr. Wang of BTP who showed us the golden dunes, the hotel recommended for lunch and dinner were reliable, especially outside the resort in Querong restaurant The same food was 1/3 the price inside the resort The day trip went very well Mr. Wang spoke very good Chinese Service attitude was very good, highly recommend to everyone to visit Mindan Island.

4.00I was awed by the picturesque view of the place. Looking at the blue lake, you feel as if you are in another dimension. Insta-worthy indeed! If you are visiting, bring an umbrella and sunshade or sun hat as the weather is very hot (thus the name dune, I guess). Sun screen lotion would help too.

4.00Mr Rio is very prompt and reliable in his service. His efficient service started way before we arrive into Bintan. His What’s apps replies were never late. He is very accommodating towards our last minute request. Always ready to provide info with photos on his WA replies. Mr Devis is a cheerful and helpful driver and we were glad to have him for 2days. Couldn’t find any flaws in their service. We were confirmed by our concierge that Mr Devis was already in their premises upon our check in. No time was wasted or needed In calling to check on it’s driver. Mr Devis also proved to be a good photographer who assisted to take our group photos. We were truly lucky to have him driving us for our 2days tour. 10 Thumbs up to BTP From our group.

4.00Pleasant trip throughout with help of the friendly owner for the arrangement and the guide for the trip, Andi. The sand dunes and blue lakes are definitely the highlight of our trip and ended with nice lunch at kelong. Definitely good way to spend your half day at Bintan if you have tight schedule.

5.00Our guide Rio is knowledgable and brought us to the best photo spots that are away from the crowd. Lunch was real kelong seafood that’s also frequented by locals away from the tourist area. Will definitely call on Rio again when I go back to Bintan for my holiday.
