Pay for the synagogues' admission tickets only and enjoy a free, complex tour of about 2.5 hours with experts. Your Budapest experience must include the Jewish district - the former Ghetto area. We have been on a mission to passionately help visitors learn about the Hungarian Jewish history, culture and heritage for over 25 years now.

On this tour we present Europe's largest synagogue the Dohany, the Heroes' Temple synagogue and the recently renovated magnificent Rumbach synagogue from inside, while we stroll along the streets of the former Budapest Ghetto and learn about Righteous Gentiles who helped save many lives during the dark times of the Hungarian Holocaust and Jewish life in Budapest today. The tour offers an insight into the various Hungarian Jewish movements in today's cultural, commercial and entertainment center of our colorful, multicultural and breathtaking Budapest.

David gave an excellent tour. His knowledge of all the synagogues, the history of the ghetto, and general Jewish knowledge is obvious. I only wish he good have spoken a bit slower. My older ears don't hear as fast as he spoke. It was obvious from the presentation that he is proud of his heritage.

The guide was knowledgeable. The problem was that there were other guests with disabilities on the tour and they had trouble walking so the guide had to help them. It would be better if your company could have different groups according to abilities such as having a leisure group and regular group. They did that on my cruise ship and it worked well.

This is a very beautiful and meaningful experience to understand the vibrant history of the Jews in Budapest. From touring the synagogues, to the grounds of the Dohany Synagogue to Jewish quarter, our tour guide provided relevance, history and meaning to the tour.

Our tour guide was excellent. I’d recommend the long tour as it provided a more comprehensive experience overall about the Jewish quarter. As an example of the richer experience I would never had even thought to look for street markers showing the boundary of the ghetto.

This is one of the important places to visit in Budapest, so we were keen to see it. Our first shock was the price to get in, 29,000 HUF for 2, which was about £73 at the exchange rate in June. We are seniors and there was no discount unlike many other places we visited. Having decided to pay, the next surprise was the rudeness of the ticket and security staff, neither very welcoming. The third surprise was the tour guide described as ‘free’, they really mean ‘included’. He gave quite a brief explanation in the synagogue followed by a brief stop at the cemetery and Tree of Life, barely 20minutes. After he left we were free to look around without limit which was good. The exhibition about the Ghetto was interesting, although not well displayed, for example a video presentation was at the entry to an alcove with no seats, so when a crowd stood around other visitors had to push past them to see the wall displays in the alcove. The museum had some interesting artefacts about Jewish culture and life. As we arrived at one area, a group went in and put a chair across the entrance preventing us from continuing the exhibition which was annoying. In conclusion, there were parts of this that were very interesting, but overall poor value for money. We can’t help feeling that the price will exclude many people and families when we all should be able to reflect on the horrors of the past.
