The Chicago Architecture Center River Cruise aboard Chicago's First Lady has long been the gold standard among all Chicago tour experiences, and is the only Chicago architecture boat tour led by highly trained expert docents. On this 90-minute cruise, you will enjoy an overview of historic and modern architectural styles including stories about the people who designed and built Chicago.

5.00Cheryl was our tour guide and she was absolutely amazing! She explained everything so clearly and had such a great sense of humor that she kept the entire tour engaging from beginning to end. I don’t usually have the best memory, but the way she told the stories made everything so interesting that I still remember all the buildings, their history, the stories behind them, and even their architectural designs. This was honestly the highlight of my trip to Chicago. Thank you so much for such an unforgettable experience!

5.00I've wanted to do this tour for several years. It did not disappoint. We went right away in the morning (9:30 AM) and it was cool enough to enjoy and the boat wasn't croweded. The docent who volunteered was very knowledgeable and we loved hearing the history of each of the buildings. Great tour if you are even mildly interested in history and architecture and the river is beautiful!

5.00If you're visiting Chicago or even if you live here and are looking for something different to do, I highly recommend the Chicago Architecture Center's First Lady boat tour! It was such a fun and informative experience, giving us a deeper appreciation for the history behind Chicago's stunning skyline. The boat has both upper and lower levels with open seating, plus a bar where you can grab a beverage or snack during the tour. A special shoutout to our tour guide, Cheryl L., who was absolutely amazing. Her knowledge, enthusiasm, and storytelling made the experience even more enjoyable. Thank you for volunteering your time and sharing your passion with everyone on board! Since volunteers aren't able to accept tips, I hope the Chicago Architecture Center recognizes the incredible job you do.
